Courtney Nicole Deangelis (born May 8th, 1989)  — known professionally as Courtney Dee  — is an up and coming pop singer-songwriter hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She will release her debut single "TBA" on TBA 2014.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Courtney was born at 5:23 AM on the 8th of May, 1988. She has a fraternal twin sister, Yvonne. The twins also have a younger brother called Eric, who is 20 years old. Courtney's parents sent herself and her siblings to private schools, where Courtney learned of her passion for singing and performing. Upon graduating from High School she attended the University of Pennsylvania, earning a BA degree in Music. Her sister Yvonne holds a degree in Theatre Arts.

Courtney was raised as a Christian by her parents, but they accepted her with open arms when she came out as a lesbian in her early teens. She claims to be agnostic.

Early Career[edit | edit source]

Courtney began searching for a record deal in early 2011, sending demo CD's off to various record labels. She then tried auditioning for several girl-bands and almost made the line-up for girl group Alcopop, but missed out to Addie Lerman. The band, however, never took off and have since disbanded.

Dee struck gold in late 2012 and was offered a 3-album contract with the famous Blacklight Records and has been recording her debut album since January 2013.

Courtney signed a 3-album contract with Blacklight Records in late 2012 and has since been recording songs for her debut album with famous producers such as RedOne, Max Martin and Steve Mac. Her debut single was planned to be the RedOne and BeatGeek produced track "Never Have I Ever", but plans were scrapped for unknown reasons.

Courtney returned almost a year later to release her debut single and album as she toured as support for Australian singer/songwriter Jason. In August 2014, it was announced that Courtney's debut single would be "Better Than Ecstasy", produced by SoFly and Nius. The track is to be released in September 2014 alongside her debut album Second Chance.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Courtney is openly lesbian. She realized she was gay when she was 13 years old and came out to her parents and family at 15, who accepted her with no hesitation. She has had a few relationships throughout the past decade, but is currently single in order to focus her full attention on her career.
