Elle[edit | edit source]

'Elle' was formed in 2001, the band consisted of 4 teenage friends. Although the band was never signed they had minor success on the club circuit. Holly left the band to persue a solo career in early 2004. The band tried to have a comeback on the back of Holly's solo success but nothing ever materialised.

The first single[edit | edit source]

Holly's first break into the music business came when she signed to indpendant label Posa Records. Throughout late 2004/early 2005 Holly recorded her debut album titled 'Material Girl' which was due to be release early 2006. The first single to be lifted from the album was 'Dirty Lovin', a club friendly song. With Little Promotion and publicity the song failed to chart.

The move to Platinum Records[edit | edit source]

After her failure to launch into the UK charts Holly moved to the newly formed Platinum Records. She scrapped the pop, dance and R'n'b influenced album 'Material Girl', the only songs salvaged were the single 'Dirty Lovin', the Madonna cover 'Material Girl' and the R'n'B track 'Uh Oh' was the b-side to 'Relationship with an answering phone'. Holly rush recorded the album 'Scarlett Fever' between october and december 2006. The first single to be released on Platinum Records was the double a-side 'Determination/Go Go Go', after a huge promotional campaign it finally charted at #4 behind well established acts Claire Kitten and Jon Farley, the single was certified Gold in January 2006. The album was due to be pushed forward so it could soak up the success of 'Determination/Go Go Go' but due to manufacturing issues it had to be pushed back to the 16th January 2006. The fan-faveourite 'Relationship With an Answering Phone' was the next single to be lifted of the album at the end of January 2006, it charted at a slightly disspointing #11 selling just under 100,000 copies in total. The final single to be released of 'Scarlett Fever' was a Dead or Alive cover and a re-worked album track, the duets with band Snake Bite 'You Spin Me Round/Stiletto' entered the charts at #12 but the next week rose into the top 10 at #8, the single stayed in the top 40 for an amazing 11 weeks and sold just shy of 125,000 copies. This single was followed by a re-release of the album, 'Obscenely Delicious', a track of the re-release was goin to be released as the fith single but Holly decided to move on to the next album.

Dress Code.[edit | edit source]

After the success of 'Scarlett Fever' Holly took a few months out of the scene to record a second album which was titled 'Dress Code'. The first single to be released of this album was 'Love Injection' the single peaked at number 9 and dropped out of the top 40 in 5 weeks. Holly, who revealed that she wasn't a fan of the song herslef quickly pushed for a release of the title track of the album 'Dress Code', there were doubts of how well the single would do chartwise. It became her highest charting single debuting at #3, 'Dress Code' became Holly's second Gold single. A re-release and a another single was planned of the album but both were cancelled after a label change to Alias Records. Holly has since stated that she has finished with 'Dress Code'.

Dress Code - Worldwide[edit | edit source]

A special edition of 'Dress Code' was released across Europe in July 2007 it includes songs from both albums. It has so far sold over 500,000 in Europe. 'Dress Code' will be released Asia within the next month, Holly will be under the name Electric V.
