Ella Bailey (Born on June 7th 1988) is a female actor, model and more recently singer from the United States.

Bailey rose to fame in 2004 when she was 16 and was selected by American Television Company ABC to star within a number of their primetime shows. Following stints on Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy, she received her first film starring in a total of 18 feature films from 2006 until 2012.

In 2013 she announced she was retiring from films to debut a singing career. She signed an international contract with Blacklight Records and released the taster track, "Burnin' Up". She is expected to release an international album within the summer.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Ella was born in New York and lived a standard childhood going to school regularly attending a drama club which she loved. She grew up with two brothers and her parents who were particularly wealthy. When she was 13 she took the lead role in her school theater production of "Alice In Wonderland" in which got her noticed by several local theaters who went on invite her in for several roles.

Early Career[edit | edit source]

When she was 16 she entered a competition to win a place on a new upcoming Pilot episode for an ABC Production. She made it through several stages of the competition before it fell through as the intended television episode had been scrapped. However she then got invited to appear on several television episodes from ABC such as 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Ugly Betty' before she became noticed by the executives. This, in 2005, landed her with the lead role for 'ZigZag' which was a new comedy to be launched by the network. The season was very successful receiving great reviews. The show got cancelled after it's first run after the lead writer suddenly died of a heart attack.

Film Career[edit | edit source]

After a short period of no work, it was announced Bailey would star in 2006 film 'Little Miss Sunshine'. The film was an instant smash and she got her name into the film world. From 2006-2010 she filmed 12 films where she took a smaller role. Most films were indie but she featured in 'Knocked Up' and 'Iron Man'. In 2010, she got the lead role for the film 'Today' which was a global success at the box office. She recieved worldwide press coverage from appearances at film premieres and other events. She flew over to Europe in early 2011 where she did a lot of press in the UK, France and Germany. She was the face of L'Oreal and promoted the brand at the Cannes film festival for several years. She then filmed lead roles for '24 Days' and 'It's Just Not My Day' which were both huge successes. In the Summer of 2012 she did worldwide promotion for 'It's Just Not My Day' which grossed over $900 million. She visited Australia, Asia and Europe again which got her huge attention as an actor. She announced at the end of her promotional tour in September 2012 that she was taking a break from acting.

2013: On The Radio[edit | edit source]

In April 2013, a press release was sent out to the media stating the Bailey had resigned from acting and wanted to focus on an upcoming singing career. It spoke of how she had begun work on her debut album and plans on releasing within the Summer of 2013 worldwide. A couple weeks later a taster track, "Burnin' Up" was announced and released to radios. The track hit number 2 on the download charts. In June, it was announced her debut single will be released in August alongside her album.

In July 2013, the lead single "Army of Dance" was announced to the fans. Upon the premiere the fans praised the 'club feel' and the 'catchy lyrics' claiming it was going to be a hit track. The single was scheduled in for release on August 5, 2013. Shortly after the single was announced, the album "On The Radio" was announced.
