Stacy Hart (born 2 December, 1986) is an English pop singer and songwriter. She rose to fame in 2007 as the winner of the short-lived television series IDOL. Her debut album Stroke My Ego featured writing and production credits from Alesha, Bleak September, and Shell Ruin, and boasted successful singles "Drop Dead Gorgeous" and "Bad Boyfriend". Her second studio album POPART! attained the coveted number one position on the albums chart. After various setbacks, Stacy Hart moved to new management and is currently working on her third album. She appeared on first season of The Uraps Factor in 2012 but was not invited back for the 2013 series.

2007—2009: Stroke My Ego and POPART![edit | edit source]

Stacy Hart was first noticed when she auditioned for the short-lived television series IDOL, similar to the URAPS Idol series. She was considered an underdog but quickly became a favourite to win the show with memorable performances of London's "Spun! (On the Scene)", Christina Aguilera's "Fighter", and Nelly Furtado's "Try". Hart received attention for her relationships with IDOL runner-up Noah Woods and former pop singer Justin Case.

Shortly after the show ended, Hart released her winning single "Cherry On Top", which peaked at number three on the singles chart and spent a further seven weeks in the top ten. Her debut album Stroke My Ego, which featured writing and production credits from Alesha, Bleak September, and Shell Ruin, peaked at number two and was certified platinum. The album was criticised for being too "cookie cutter", but "Drop Dead Gorgeous", number one "Bad Boyfriend", and "Graffiti" all performed exceptionally well on the singles chart.

In June 2008, Stacy Hart unveiled a new image and sound with a taster single, "BANG! BANG! (You're Mine)", the first to be written and produced by Stacy herself. The song adopted a more electronic-influenced sound. It entered the charts at number nine on downloads alone and peaked at number two a week later. In the United States, "BANG! BANG!" topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs and Hot Dance Airplay charts. The song was followed by "Starcrossed", written by Shell Ruin, but due to minimal promotion, it peaked at number eleven. A follow-up, another Ruin production entitled "Child of Venus", was announced but later cancelled. A different Ruin song, "Kiss and Tell", was released in March 2009 and entered the top five. Stacy's second album, POPART!, was finally released and attained the coveted number one position on the albums chart. In addition to her own work, POPART! included contributions from Damned, Elice Claire, Indigo Peak, Tiara Coles, and Ruin again. Another planned single, "OMG!", was later cancelled.

2009-2011: New management[edit | edit source]

Stacy got new management but failed to return to the charts, leading to her comfort eating.

2012—present: URAPS Factor and URAPS One More Time[edit | edit source]

Stacy finally managed to return to the public eye in 2012, after becoming one of the judges for the hugley popular first season of The Uraps Factor, alongside Brett Clarkson, Candi and James Moss. Hart mentored the "Overs" category, however by Week 6 she had lost all her category. For the second season in 2013, Hart was the only judge not asked to return, and was instead replaced by Kleo. Uraps Factor chiefs explained the reasons for her contracting ending as "lack of connection with the public and failure to achieve success with her acts".

In 2013, Stacy made her first impact on the charts in four years, when she featured on Sunflower of Shade's charity single "Stand Up For Sunflowers". The song charted at #8 on the charts.

In April 2013, it was announced that Hart, along with seven other pop acts of their time would reunite for an ITV series called URAPS One More Time, in which they would reveal about their individual stories about their life in the spotlight before reforming for a gig at the Hammersmith Apollo, singing their greatest hits.
