Aisha La'Tiqua Klareece Fayeannee La'Verne (Born 19th May 1985) is an American born R&B singer/songwriter, who rose to fame as one third of the girl group SHY

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Aisha was raised by her solo mother Fanny La'Verne in Queens, New York her father was unknown. Aisha was an only child.

Aisha attended Jamaica highschool while there she met friends Thalia Bennett and Taryn Bennett who ultimately would end up in SHY . While there Thalia, Taryn and herself would enter talent quests and often won, once being runners up. This gained the girls a lot of respect and attention in their district and soon were talking out statewide competitions.

SHY[edit | edit source]

In early 2003, a very young Thalia Bennett, sister Taryn and Aisha La'Verne struck a record deal with a huge American record label. SHY had amounts of success in the U.S and U.K alike, however 2004 saw the band take a hiatus, after bandmate Thalia split with her fiance.

In late 2005, Aisha decided that SHY needed to reform, after making a short attempt to go solo. In order to keep the original girls back together Aisha called upon former member Taryn and her sister Thalia to see if the pair would reform with her. To her dismay, both declined, only for Thalia to commit a week later.

Holding auditions, Laya Richards was introduced to the band and SHY became more successful with this line-up, rather than any previous.

While getting ready to start promotional campaigns for their 8th single, Aisha quit SHY after a massive argument with management over a solo deal.

In 2011 Aisha acquied the rights to use the SHY name from former member Thalia and has since reformed the group with two new members.
