"Arrow" is a song by Welsh/Australian singer Jason, released via Fusion Records on September 9th 2013 as the second single from his sophomore album Trouble. The track was written by Jason and produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut.

Background[edit | edit source]

"Arrow" was written and produced in early February 2013 in Los Angeles, with the intention of it being the single that would launch the album. Jason said that he asked to work with Dr. Luke as he felt the pair could create "a hit that wasn't a total sell-out". Jason worked with Dr.Luke on his previous album Veins.
The single was announced along with the album in a press release in late July 2013 and upon it's premiere, received positive reviews from critics.

Promotion[edit | edit source]

In order to promote the single, Jason appeared on numerous radio shows throughout the UK and Ireland. He sang an acoustic version of the song on Radio One's Live Lounge. Jason appeared on This Morning and Daybreak to perform the single and also appeared on The Late Late Show in Dublin, Ireland to give an interview and perform the track for the studio audience.

Music video[edit | edit source]

Screenshot of the video.

The music video for 'Arrow' was shot in late July 2013 and was directed by Taylor Cohen. The video was shot completely in black and white and most scenes were shot with a hand-held camera.
The video begins with Jason flexing his muscles and casually flirting with the person behind the camera. He takes the camera off them eventually and turns it to face them, revealing it to be a boyfriend/lover (portrayed by Tyler Blackburn)
The video is mostly a selection of video clips of the two lovers during happy times and does not feature Jason lip-syncing to the lyrics of the song. Some scenes include the pair having a picnic, visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris, engaging in intercourse (nothing explicit), messing around their apartment and taking a road trip.
Towards the end of the video, Jason begins rewinding the video to the very beginning of the footage (which is a scene we haven't seen previously) which shows Jason lying shirtless on a bed, laughing before saying to the camera "I know you wanna kiss me". The person behind the camera replies with: "Maybe I do". Jason giggles before saying: "Come over here then". Jason's lover places the camera down on a bedside table and the camera is facing the two of them on the bed and shows them kissing. The footage is paused here and we are then shown Jason sitting in a bedroom wearing pajamas and surrounded by take-away pizza boxes. He lazily gets off the bed and ejects the DVD from his DVD player. He looks at the disk which is titled "Me and Wyatt". A single tear falls from his eye and he snaps the disk in half. The screen suddenly goes to black as the video ends
