Bette is the debut studio album by British-American singer-songwriter Bette. It was released on June 11, 2021 by Apathetic Records. The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at #1 in the UK charts, spawning six Top 5 singles, and selling in excess of 1.7 Million copies in the UK alone.
Following Bette's emancipation from her troubled father, Alex Washington, Bette set about working on her debut studio album. Calling upon many old acquaintances and work partners of her father, Bette assembled a team of A-list talent to help guide the project, which took influences from several styles, including 90s rave, electro-pop, R&B, and reggae. The album was extremely well-received, debuting at #1 in both the UK and US, selling over 126,000 copies in its first week in the UK.
Bette debuted at #1 on the UK albums chart. The album sold over 1.9 Million copies in the UK, and was certified Diamond.
