Better Than Midnight is an extended play released by Brett Clarkson and Kenya from Tiger Tiger as one of the entries in the 2011 Tango Challenge. The EP draws its name from the songs "Better Than You", from Clarkson's album, and "Brooklyn At Midnight", from Kenya's debut solo album Harlem Renaissance. The song "Better Than You" is believed to be about pop icon MIDNIGHT, who Clarkson and Kenya had both shown a strong dislike towards. Kenya has since made much more positive comments about MIDNIGHT, stating that the label "knew controversy would sell." "Brooklyn at Midnight", on the other hand, originally featured guest vocals by Wolf Wolfe instead of Clarkson and describes a post–apocalyptic New York City.
The EP charted at number two behind Candi's debut single "That's Hot", which spent a second week at number one, thus making the Better Than Midnight EP the highest charting new entry of the week and the winner of the Tango Challenge. The EP sold just 178,340 copies in the UK, enough for a silver certification at the time.
