"Breathe" is the first single taken from the re-release.
Background[edit | edit source]
This song was originally made to be the lead single from the album Warrior, but after a long and hard decision, Ruby decided it would be the best to leave the era with, as she confirmed this would be the finals single from the album before her re-release.
Release and reception[edit | edit source]
The track titled 'Breathe' is a piano/dubstep infused pop track. The track was written by Ruby, but features lyrics in the bridge of the song from Loreen's 'Crying Out Your Name'. The track was put together in late December, after Ruby had finished touring with Bella-May. Ruby described the track as 'Powerful, with a strong message' and also added, "A lot of the lyrics in most pop songs are disguised by a lot of production and it's hard to get the balance between the two. By combining dubstep, pop and powerful lyrics, we've managed to create something special."
Music video[edit | edit source]
The music video shows a cold and derelict setting of winter scenery and an abandoned beach. The video lasts 4.00 minutes and reached one million views within a week.
