CandiLand is an American-British animated series from Cartoon Network, produced by Elite Corportation. The target audience of the show is believed to be boys and girls from six to eleven years old. However, the show also has a following of fans of the real-life Candi, from all age ranges.

The series features the adventures of animated version of popstar Candi, who has been immensely popular worldwide since making her debut in 2011. The show's theme song, "Candi Land" was recorded by Candi specifically for the show, and was included as the b-side to her single "Best Damn Night".

Overview[edit | edit source]

CandiLand revolves around the adventures of an animated version of pop princess Candi. The plot of a typical episode is some humorous variation of standard 'blonde bimbo' fare, with songs by Candi featured throughout. In addition, the show is loosely based on Candi's life, for example she is still spoilt by her 'daddy', best friends with Crystal Barker and engaged to Callum Andrews. The show does however, add many fictional storylines too, for additional storylines.

The setting of the show is often referred to as "Candi Land", however it is known that the word "Candi Land" is actually a term describing the 'happy, pink and perfect world Candi lives in' and isn't specific enough to be one place. Many fans believe the show is set somewhere near Candi's hometown of Newcastle, however this has never been confirmed. The show has gone on to recieve a strong reception from fans and critics, with it's first review describing it as "one of the few modern day creations that is both gleeful pop culture and exquisite high art."

The opening theme is a track by Candi herself, entitled "Candi Land". The song was recorded specifically for the show, and premiered on the same day as the show. It is featured as a b-side for Candi's single "Best Damn Night".

Cast member Years credited Season(s) Title(s) Notes
Candi 2012 1 - Lead role Candi is an attractive blonde who is a naive individual but has an enormous heart. She is a successful popstar and is often regarded as a stereotypical blonde, however she can at times surprise people. Her three favourite things in the world are the colour pink, her fiance Callum and her appearance/hair.
Crystal Barker 2012 1 - Main Character Crystal is Candi's best friend, and also a famous popstar. She is very energetic, and extremelly flirty. She always recieves a large amount of attention from boys, but has more interest in having fun with Candi than settling down with a boy. It should be noted that in real life Crystal dates Candi's brother Chase Elite, however he does not feature in the cartoon.
Callum Andrews 2012 1 - Main Character Callum is a hunky man who is engaged to Candi. Just like his real life counterpart, Callum is a member of a popular boyband. He is shown to be very in love with Candi, and has a fun loving personality.
Randi 2012 1 - Main Antagonist Randi is the arch rival of Candi. Where as Candi is sweet, happy and full of love, Randi is literally the exact opposite, and is a massive diva. She is also a popstar and gets very jealous of all the success Candi achieves, and often tries to sabotage her career.
Clara 2012 1 - Supporting Character Clara is Candi's number one superfan. She worships everything to do with Candi and follows her around everywhere. Although this can be annoying for Candi, and Clara does come across as a stalker, Candi does appreciate Clara's love for her.
