Danelle, Fame & Dirty Games is the debut studio album of Canadian pop singer Danelle Becker, released 5 April 2009 on Fascination Records. It serves as Becker's first solo release following a three duet singles, including two which featured Violetta DiNozzo. It was preceeded by the lead single, "Twelve Times", which was released 5 April 2010. The album entered the charts at #2.
Background and conception[edit | edit source]
The album was recorded by Danelle Becker in 2009 and finished most of it in 2010, mostly in Los Angeles and New York but as a producer like her so much she did a couple of sessions in London. Becker primarily worked with RedOne, Phoenix Rising, Lily Shellen, among other amazing producers. Danelle's first recorded track for the album was "Uncertified" which was released in 2009, as an entry for the 2009 Tango Challenge. Becker then released a Violetta DiNozzo penned track called "...And You Are?" with was also a duet with DiNozzo. Becker then embarked on a small album recording session in the winter of 2009. Becker's third release "Queens Of Anarchy" was a small project, which included Violetta DiNozzo, Sabrina and Deltra.
In 2010, Becker finally decided to put an album out, she worked with Phoenix Rising to write and produce the album. The album's lead single "Twelve Times" was written by Becker and DiNozzo. The album version of the song includes Violetta DiNozzo.
Reviews & reception[edit | edit source]
"Twelve Times" received many positive reviews from critics. Popjustice described it as "song of the year by miles" and complimented how it has been inspired by the popularity of Electro Hip-Rock in 2008 and 2009, yet still remains original and unique. Speaking of the rest of the album, Popjustice said that the other tracks, including "Boys, Fame & Dirty Games", "Atlantis", and "Celebreality" were "intensely brilliant". OMFG!!!1
