Background[edit | edit source]

"Divine Intervention" is a pop ballad. The song's lyrics describe a world in turmoil and crisis, with various forms of conflict and suffering, including wars between nations, conflicts between family members, and strained romantic relationships. The lyrics express a sense of desperation and a call for divine intervention.

"Divine Intervention" was Henning's first single not to chart at the number-one position or gain a Platinum certification. It is also her lowest selling single, selling just 238,359 copies.

A festive version of the song appears on Emily's first Christmas release Merry Little Christmas.
