Fiction was released on 23 November, 2009. It is the second studio album by pop singer, Helena Rossi.
Only a month after the release of the final single on Helena's debut album, Queenbee, she had announced her departure with Elite Records, citing that she wanted to try out another record label, consequently signing onto Saturdays Records within September. Soon after she begun her support slot of Alesha's Apocalypse City Tour. On this tour, Alesha provided Helena with a handful of track for a new album she had planned to release in 2010. But soon after the tour ended, Rossi announced that her new album was complete, and the first single, Call of the Wild would be released to coincide with the album, November 23, 2009, only 5 months after her debut album.
The album was released and charted at #1, selling over 900,000 copies, to certify it 3x Platinum in it's huge run, also spawning Helena's first #1 single in Febuary, 2010, Aggression/Rage.
- Call of the Wild was released on 23 November, 2009. It was originally intended for release November 9, 2009, but delayed due to her support on Alesha's tour. It peaked at #2, certified Platinum and sold 277,612 units.
- Aggression/Rage was released 1 February, 2010. It peaked at #1, certified Platinum, and sold units of 319,566, making it her highest selling single.
- Bite The Dust music video was released 31st December, 2009. It was intended as a promotional single in Australia, but plans were later shelved. It was planned as the fourth single from the album, but didn't go ahead due to the cancelled release of Madame Royale.
- Madame Royale was released on 1 January, 2010. It was to support the Japanese leg of the Best Fiction Tour. It's music video was released the same day. It was also planned as the third single from the album worldwide, but didn't get released after Rossi returned to the studio.
- Feed The Sharks music video was released February 5th, 2010. It was originally planned to be the fifth and final single from the album, but was also cancelled due to the new album being released.
Helena announced that she would embark on the Best Fiction Tour as early as January, 2010 beginning in Japan and spanning most of 2010. The tour saw no support acts, as Helena wanted the show to be dedicated to her fans, after the short lived first Scream My Name Tour, which visited only smaller venues. Most of the Best Fiction Tour sold out, and many more shows were added over it's long 6 month course. It would only be outdone by the even more successful tour, Asylum Tour in 2011 to support the album, Manifesto.
Rossi performed mostly songs from Fiction, and new revitalised songs from the Queenbee era, and a handful of covers that would change with each leg of the tour to suit the continent in which she was performing.
The album revolved around a Alice in Wonderland theme to interpolate the Fiction name into the tour. The visuals had a girl in a red wig following the story of Alice and stumbling on meaningful signatures of Helena's songs, in which they would open the next act of the tour.
This tour prompted a special Tour Edition of the album to be released and only sold at the tours in a specially designed book-like case. It sold out at all the shows, and is extremely rare between fans, sometimes going for three times the original price on auctioning websites. The Tour Edition features the updated remixes featured on tour, and two exclusive demoes of the tracks from Fiction.
