"Goldbridge High" is a single by British rapper 8-BIT. The single is the lead single from 8-BIT's third studio album, also titled "Goldbridge High". The single features Coral Harris, making this the pairs third collaboarion, and second to be released after "The Haze" in 2011. The single is due to be released on 02 September 2013. The single is based around a fictional school named 'Goldbridge High' and attacks the schooling system, such as the fact they don't embrace a students individuality.

Background[edit | edit source]

On August 13, 8-BIT had a much anticipated one hour interview with Frank Skinner over his new era. Within this interview he revealed the era would be titled "Goldbridge High" and the lead single would share the title, and feature vocals from Coral Harris. When discussing the single, 8-Bit stated: "I think we're not paying enough attention to the way in which our kids are growing up. We're not listening to them, so they've given up trying to communicate. All it took to get the kids to talk to me was to give them a platform, to let them know I cared about what they were saying."

Regarding working with Coral Harris, 8-BIT stated: "She was the first person I called when putting this all together, she'll tell you herself, but I insisted that I wouldn't do it without having her on the lead track." In return, Coral discussed both 8-BIT and his upcoming new era, claiming: "We work together so well, we bring out the best in each other. The rap market isn't as big here as it is for pop, dance rock etc, so when there's very few of us representing one genre, it's good to bounce of each other and make the other work harder. The direction for his new album is amazing, and it's made me so excited to continue recording new music for my next album too. I feel as though we both are very creative people, and continuously help inspire one another."

This single marks the third time the duo have collaborated. The first collaborated in 2011 on 8-BIT's first top ten single, "The Haze". Their B-side to the single, "13/2" was included on 8-BIT's second album, "Shall Not Be Mourned".
