Background[edit | edit source]

In Your Dreams[edit | edit source]

The song "In Your Dreams" was first available on 20 August 2012, where it was included as track 5 upon the release of Coral's debut album "The English Rose". The track was written by Afrika Rose. In the song, Coral sings about being how her beauty is going to have a certain man mesmorised. The title of the song comes from the line "You know you're sick and tired of her, well thats how it seems / So come and get me, but for now I'll be in your dreams / You won't be getting a wink of sleep". The song was re-recorded with rapper L.E.X for the single version, where he took out the second verse and replaced it with a new one written by himself, which he provided vocals for, as well as sharing the third verse with Coral. The vocals on the chorus are also now sung by both Harris and Bennett.

Runnin' Dis[edit | edit source]

"Runnin' Dis", a collaboration between L.E.X and Coral Harris was included as track 1 on L.E.X's sophmore studio album "Lionheart". Upon the album's release, the track was regarded by many as one of the strongest tracks on the album and a deffinate future single. On 03 November it was revealed the single would be the second track released from the album. The single also going to be released in the US.

Release and reception[edit | edit source]

Upon the release of "Lionheart", BBC gave a review on the album, and focused on "Runnin' Dis" in particular where they described it as "a fusion of rap royalty. This is the kind of track where both L.E.X and Coral are at their strongest, so by putting the two biggest rappers of the moment on one track, well you can imagine the kind of music perfection we're going to be hearing. And it's safe to say this doesn't dissapoint. If you're a fan of rap, this going to be the song your highlight of 2012." Other reviews also noted the track as one of the best on the album. It was also a fan favourite. "In Your Dreams" received a positive response from critics. NME stated: "recently we've been worrying that Coral has been favouring mainstream success over her urban roots, but after listening to 'The English Rose' tracks like 'In Your Dreams' have ensured we are confident she's not ignoring her rap origins, and is instead embracing them."

Runnin' Dis[edit | edit source]

The video for "Runnin' Dis" premiered on 29 November 2012. The video pans over the Las Vegas strip at night, with all the ambient sounds of the city life. The title pops up on-screen for a few seconds, then fades away as the frame settles on an upscale casino. Cutting to the entrance, we see a limousine roll up to the door. L.E.X approaches the limo, dressed as a valet. He opens the door, and Coral steps out of it in an expensive leopard-print dress and tall pink stilettos. They exchange a secret glance as Coral enters the casino. L.E.X steals away through an employee entrance where he swiftly changes out of his work outfit into a fitted dark blue suit.

Coral is standing at the roulette tables, playing one of the games. She spins the wheel as L.E.X joins from the other side. They pretend to be mere acquaintances having only met each other at the table as they take turns spinning. Coral catches the attention of a rich man overseeing the game room; he is the owner of the casino, and he calls for a waiter to bring her a drink. Coral accepts the drink as she allows herself to be chatted up by the owner. She pretends to flirt back while L.E.X leaves the table.

The casino owner invites Coral back to his room to 'talk', and she follows him up, but only as a distraction while L.E.X is infiltrating the casino's vault. The casino owner leaves Coral alone in his room while he goes to fetch some ice and a bottle of champagne, and while she's alone Coral breaks into his bedside table and steals a handwritten list of security codes, which she communicates back to L.E.X before the casino owner comes back. L.E.X uses the codes to disable some of the vault's security.

L.E.X uses some computer wizardry to hack into the camera feed and loop a few seconds of footage, so he can move undetected. He manages to disable the rest of the vault's security and break into the vault where he stuffs over $50 million dollars into a couple of bags. All the while, Coral is still playing distraction for the casino owner, looking completely bored when he can't see her face. She doesn't have to start removing her clothes however, as L.E.X's entry to the vault has triggered off alarms which make the casino owner rush off in a hurry.

In all the chaos, Coral slips away undetected to meet up with L.E.X in an employee-only area. He has with him the bags full of cash, and they hide away to change into caterers' outfits. Hiding the bags under a serving trolley, they pretend to be evacuating the building along with all the other employees, and when they reach their getaway vehicle (a catering truck), L.E.X stashes the money and they drive away, L.E.X behind the wheel. L.E.X kisses Coral's hand while driving, and they smirk at the camera - partners in crime, having just pulled off a perfect heist.

In Your Dreams[edit | edit source]

The video premiered on 01 December 2012. The video begins with Coral walking down a street. A group of boys all look at her and she smirks to herself as she walks past and they begin to wolf whistle. The song begins and Coral continues to walk down the street singing as boys keep on stopping and staring. She then turns into a doorway and is shown to be walking into a library.

Now in the library, Coral climbs onto a long table, and walks down the table kicking lots of boy's books off the table. At the far end of the table, L.E.X is shown to be sitting with his girlfriend as they giggle over something in a book. Coral increases her pace, using the table as a catwalk. L.E.X looks up from his book and see's Coral stood over him. She grabs him by the collar and pulls him onto the table with her as they sing the chorus together. Whilst singing the chorus, the two are seen to be flirting intensely together as L.E.X's girlfriend stands by the table shouting at the pair.

L.E.X begins his rap on the table, to a group of girls stood admiring him, as Coral has a mini bitch fight with his girlfriend, eventually chucking her out of the window. By the time the chorus returns, the amount of people staring at the pair becomes too large, and CoraLEX are forced to run out of the library.

As they run down the street Coral was originally on, hundreds of men and women are shown chasing them from behind. The pair manage to run into some random building and hop into a lift. The doors close just before their fans get in. Whilst in the lift, L.E.X punches the control panel causing the lift to stop moving and breakdown. Coral giggles and as the sprinklers come on the pair get soaking as they stand facing each other with their faces pressed against one another, as they rap about taking care of each other. The pair eventually kiss in the lift (and by now are soaking) as it's shown the lift is beginning to work again. The lift returns to the ground floor with the mob waiting for them, but as the doors open, the lift is empty – one member of the massive army of admirers walks into the lift and picks up a note saying “In Your Dreams – Love CoraLEX x” and the video fades out as the pair are shown walking off laughing together.
