Indigo Indigo are a British female duo that originate from Brighton, United Kingdom. The group consist of two members, the black girl and the ginger one. The girls achieved fame through their appearance on the second series of The Uraps Factor. Whilst on the show, the girls were mentored by popstar Candi. They progressed to the live shows as part of the final 17, and eventually reached the live grand final in Week 11, where they ended up finishing the competition in 3rd place, making them the highest placing group to ever compete on The Uraps Factor, and the only ever act in Uraps Factor history to reach the final whilst not in the "girls" category.
2013: The Uraps Factor[edit | edit source]
The second series of The Uraps Factor premiered on 12 January 2013, where the judge's house stage was shown, featuring the final 28 acts. It was revealed that Indigo Indigo had reached this stage in the show, and were one of the final seven groups auditioning infront of the mentor for groups that year, Candi and her guest judge Ben Johnston. They performed "With Every Heartbeat", and were chosen by Candi to progress through to the live shows as one of her four groups and one of the 17 finalists. For the first live show, under the 90's theme they performed "Rhythm of the Night" and progressed through to the second live show, surviving a double elimination where another of Candi's groups, 4EVR, were eliminated. On the second live show, the group performed a mash-up of "Anything Could Happen" and "Midnight Sky" in which they received acclaim from the judges and survived another double elimination, progressing into the final 13. On Week 3, Indigo Indigo performed "Crisis: Identity" and progressed through to the fourth week, where as Candi lost another group, Diamante, leaving Indigo Indigo as one of only two remaining groups. On Week 4, they sang "Promises" for the theme 'Best of British'. They progressed through to the next week, surviving yet another double elimination. On Week 5 and now in the final 10, they performed "Too Close" and once again progressed through, where as Candi's other group, Kimono, were eliminated, leaving Indigo Indigo as Candi's last remaining group in the series. For the theme of "songs from movies" in Week 6, Indigo performed "Live and Let Die" and continued through the competition. In Week 7, they performed "We Run The Night" and once again continued into the next week, surviving another double elimination. For Week 8, as part of the final 6, Indigo Indigo performed "New In Town", however they were placed in the bottom two alongside Alyssa Monroe. Judges Brett Clarkson and James Moss voted out Indigo, where as Candi and Kleo voted out Alyssa, taking the vote to deadlock where it was revealed Indigo Indigo had received more votes than Alyssa and progressed into the final five. For Week 9 (the quarter-final), the judges lost their power to vote, and only the publics votes were used to eliminate an act. Indigo Indigo performed "Mirrors" and "Nobody Wanted To Dance With You" and progressed through. This also meant they became the highest placing group ever in The Uraps Factor history. For the semi-final in Week 10, Indigo Indigo performed "You & I" and "Sweet Dreams" and progressed into the final, becoming the first, and to date only act not in the "girls" category to reach the final. For the final in Week 11, they performed against Chelsea Flowers and Malaya Gold, singing their rendition of "Anything Could Happen" and "Midnight City" once again, as well as a duet of "Boss With Me", where they performed live with Tommy Gunn. The group failed to progress to the Sunday night show of Week 11, as they received the least votes to win and finished the competition in 3rd place behind Chelsea Flowers and Malaya Gold.
