Marylyn Knight (born February 22, 1944) is an English singer and actress, best known for her work in musical theatre. She has starred in many West End productions, such as Miss Hanoi, Dogs, Checkers and The Phantom of the Ballet. She is also the grandmother of pop singer Noah.
In June 2020, Knight released her first ever album, Break A Leg, at the age of 76. The album was released by XS Records and supported by the single Showstopper. The album debuted at #5 on the UK Albums Chart, where it spent two consecutive weeks, while Showstopper peaked at #9, selling 52,362 copies in its first week of release.
On September 4, 2020, Knight released Marylyn Knight & Friends, a charity album of duets in aid of the Theatres Trust. Stars such as Shell Ruin, Syd Wolfe and Gabriel Dresden appeared on the album, the proceeds of which went to the Trust's Coronavirus Crisis Fund. The album sold a total of 288,000 copies in the UK, peaking at #2.
