Release & Reception[edit | edit source]
Following an extended absence, Washington announced his long-awaited fourth album in early 2021. The album debuted at #1 in the UK, and was buoyed by a retrospective TV special aired by NBC in America, entitled Alex At...15, celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of Washington's first single Diva, in 2006. The album was to be promoted with a world tour, the I'd Rather Set Myself On Fire Than...Tour, which was to feature Washington's daughter Bette in a supporting capacity. The tour was ultimately cancelled due to safety concerns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
