Background[edit | edit source]
"Pretty White Girls" is an indie pop song that alternates between soft vocals and heavy beats. The song is described by Romo herself as a protest against the ubiquitous presence of attractive white females in the media and the bias that favors glamorizing the lifestyles of beautiful women instead of spotlighting achievers: "I don't understand how we idolize empty vessels like Kim Kardashian and put them on a pedestal, yet we can't shine the same light on a woman who does something to make something better out of the world. After doing myself a disservice by sitting down and watching television, I found the answer that was in my face all this time - glamour and sex sells."
Promotion[edit | edit source]
"Pretty White Girls" will receive its radio premiere on August 31, 2012.
