Stories of a Girl is the debut studio album by British recording artist Shell Ruin, credited as Shell Wilson. The album was first released on January 5, 2005 by Alias Records. Stories of a Girl was Ruin's first solo release following the disbanding of Voguegirl in 2004. Her debut single "Not a Love Song" was released in August 2004, which is included as a bonus track on the album. The album is primarily a pop-rock album with elements of folk, inspired largely by Alanis Morisette and Sheryl Crow. The album was a commercial success, charting within the Top 5 on the Official Albums Chart, and spawned a further Top 10 single in the form of "Boys & Girls".
