Tasha is a singer who achieved a string of hits between 2002 and 2006, including the number-one single 'Re-Arrange' and number-one album 'Catwoman'.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Tasha (31/10/82) is the daughter of sixties superstar Jimmy Stanley, singer of the Feetwarmers. With her brother Paul being a music producer, Tasha was meant to end up in showbiz. In 2002 Paul penned her first single “Feel Good”, which shot to #2 in the charts. The talented singer didn’t stay unnoticed. Huge stars of that period queued up to collaborate with her. She released “The Boy Is Mine” with Rosie Mumba and a special Christmas E.P. with her boyfriend of that time Alex Sibley and her dear friend Tom Owen.

After these successful collaborations establishing her name, the time was right for another solo single, the ballad “A Million Paper Flowers” and the trance smash “Out of Control” as a double A-side and an album “Dirty Work”. After that she sets the charts on fire with the title song of her debut album (#1 in URAPS Single Rate). The first era of her career ended with her sixth consecutive Top 10 hit “Through The Eyes” which is put back to back with “Goldfinger” her contribution to the James Bond tribute album. Although she’s flying high in the charts, her love life gets on a dead end when her boyfriend Alex cheats on her with one hit wonder pop hussy Camile Styles.

For the follow-up album Tasha wanted to define her own sound more and she starts to experiment with electro. Not a bad choice so it seems, as the first single “Re-Arrange” shoots like comet to the top of the charts. The album “Catwoman” tops the charts as well in the first week after its release. “Re-Arrange” is followed by the dancey “Look Up”, the new wavey “Never Never” and the Emma Brown collab “Fashion Victim”. For the first time Tasha takes her songs on the road on the “Catwoman Tour”. To support the tour she releases a final single from the album called “Vanilla” back to back with a new song from the show “The Last Thing I Need is You”. This is the first song of Tasha’s to debut out of the Top 10, but it becomes a Top 10 nevertheless.

In late 2004, Tasha released her next album "Naked" which entered at #1 on the strength of the single "Better Part Of Me". This was quickly followed by a duet with Justin Case on the single "Stay", which peaked at #3 and showed staying power over the holidays. Continuing Tasha's quick single releases from the album, she kicked off 2005 with the releases of the single "Weak" and a double A-side of "Serpentine", a collaboration with Dr. C and the Predicates from the movie "The Cardplayer", and a Charlie C remix of "Storm In A Teacup"; the double A-side took Tasha to the top 2 for the first time since she reached #1 with "Re-Arrange".

Tasha returned in 2006 with the new album "Crimes Of Fashion", which was led by the single "Delicious" with Tom Owen. The single underwhelmed in its first week when it debuted at #12, but it reached its peak of #7 the week after. Later in the year, Tasha would be responsible for penning Christine Tyler's debut single "Bizarre" and Delta Nu's biggest selling single "Monte Carlo Guys", keeping her name in the spotlight although she did not release another single from the new album.

She was last seen in February 2007, announcing the release of a new album entitled "Octopussy" and the single "Catfight". However, the releases never happened.
