How London Used To Be
(2021)

The Money Shot is a song by British recording artist Jack Stevens and was released as the third single from his album ‘Close Encounters’.

Background[edit | edit source]

‘The Money Shot’ was written for the album by Shell Ruin and follows in the footsteps of other Ruin/Stevens collaborations with Shell credited as executive producer of the ‘Close Encounters’ album. The track is a thumping, electropop and synth heavy production with a nod to 80’s new wave and features lyrical themes around celebrity culture. 'The Money Shot' was slightly edited for single release, with additional production provided by Knobfeelers, the edit received it's premiere on BBC Radio 2 on March 1, 2021 and was added straight to the A-List.

Music Video[edit | edit source]

An accompanying music video for 'The Money Shot' was filmed across a number of nights in London during January 2021 and was the most ambitious and highest budget of the Close Encounters campaign. Inspired by James Bond, the video centered around a suited Jack playing a secret agent and chasing a criminal on the loose across a number of impressive car chases and stunts. The video also featured an appearance from Emily Henning.

Reception[edit | edit source]

The video was met with unanimous praise from critics and fans a like and acted as the main promotion for the single as Jack completed limited promotion.
