Album information[edit | edit source]
For the main version of the album, there are eight out of nine singles released in the UK. The single "The Hate Song" was omitted from the collections album, because Simpson feels that the song does not relate to her and that she does not like the message behind the song. The album also contains the regional singles "Summer Nights" which was released in South America and Australia, and the single "Heaven Came Down" which was released in some countries in Europe and in the US.
"For this collection album I really wanted to play around with my songs. I've released quite a few singles and to have all of them in one album is quite an accomplishment. For the new songs I wanted to go in a different direction, we have the first single 'A Million Tales' which is this bright mid-tempo about carrying every beautiful love story through time, and we also have 'Midnight Passion' which is this amazing Latin vibe, upbeat track about escaping to a new universe to be with the person you love," Simpson was quoted as saying. The photographs of the album were taken by photographer Ellen von Unwerth.
On 16 May 2010 the album debuted at number one in the Urapopstar album charts, selling over 118,000 copies. The album remained at number one for three consecutive weeks, becoming Ana's first album to go number one for more than one week. Her second album Intensive Ground entered at number one and remained there for one week. The album was certified Platinum on May 30 2010 for selling over 300,000 copies. The albums promotional single "A Million Tales", also proved to be a success. The single entered the single charts at number one selling over 110,000 copies. It remained at the top spot for a second week, selling over 100,000 copies and certifying Platinum in its third week for the shipment of 300,000 copies. The album charted for 26 weeks and went sold a total of 579,367 copies.
