Early Career[edit | edit source]
Violet first became interested in singing when she join was a freshman in High School - this is where she met Ivy the two hated eachother but with Ivy being a senior at the time and at risk of expultion, she was forced to take on the role of Violets mentor.
Along with Alyson Rose (who later joined SPIKE) and Emma Jenkins of the shortlived Emma & Anya they formed the group 'Prophecy'. The groups debut single peaked at #88 on the billboard hot 100 and the follow up bubbled under at #130. They soon split.
BreatheMusic and 'Darling'[edit | edit source]
After graduation in 1997, Violet moved over to England where she worked as a session singer whilst attending University in Bournemouth. Graduation in 2001 she met up with Emma and Alyson and reformed the group - they missed the charts again, peaking at #52, to the others the dream was over - for Violet it was just beginning.
Violet got a cleaning job at a recording studio after moving to London with friends, it's there where she was discovered by BreatheMusics Frago and signed on the spot. Work soon began on what would be her debut album - a fusion of cover versions, ballads and mid-tempo pop tracks. The album was released in November 2003 and sold around 400,000 copies spawning four top 20 singles including "Walking Down A Winding Road" which hit No.4 - making it her biggest single.
"Be" and "Cover Girl"[edit | edit source]
To ride on the back of the success of 'Walking Down A Winding Road' BreatheMusic rushed out the second album - introducing it with two cover songs, as if this wasn't enough they also announced a covers albums - and so begins the backlash.
Duetting with newcomers Shy on "There We Go", Violet entered at No.24 before peaking at No.14 and falling out a fortnight later. The album "Be..." sold just 170,000 copies. "Cover Girl" was cancelled and she was subsequently dropped.
"Violet Tendencies" and After the music[edit | edit source]
In 2006 rumours surfaced that Violet had funded her own album 'Violet Tendencies' for an independent release, though they turned out to be true the album was only available in Japan and sold 320,000 copies.
Since leaving music behind Violet has become a regular model in Playboy and still does the occasional PA at Jumpin' Jaks and the like. She also took part in "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here" and "Strictly Come Dancing".
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Violet married her long-term boyfriend Barry Wallis the same week of her album launch though the pair divorced six months later when she began an affair with rock star SPIKE. Violet announced in July 2004 that she was pregnant with his child - however she miscarried in October at six months, the two split over Christmas.
Early in 2005 after a failed relationship and failing to relaunch her singing career, Violet took an overdose, or at least - faked an overdose. This is the act that caused brother Ben to stop talking to her. They've seen eachother once since and she was not invited to his wedding in 2006.
