Vixen is a Essex-based English pop singer known for her thick Essex accent and her hit singles "Shadows" and "The Perfect Melody". She is a former member of the girl group Mannequin.
2010: Mannequin[edit | edit source]
Vixen's first taste of chart success was in October 2010, when she was part of a girlgroup named Mannequin. The group released their debut single "Every Cloud" on 31 October 2010, where it charted at #7 on the charts. Despite this, before the year had ended the group had broken up and went their seperate ways.
2011-2012: Solo career & Symphonies[edit | edit source]
After the disbanding of Mannequin in late 2010, Vixen managed to sign a solo record deal with Blacklight Records in the Summer of 2011. She released her debut single "Shadows" on 17 July 2011, along with the album "Symphonies" on the same date. Both the single and album became a massive success, both of which debuting at #1 on the charts. The second single from the album, "Heart Of Stone" was released on 04 September 2011 and and charted at #2. Vixen then featured on Nicholas X's second single, "L.O.V.E. (In The Backseat)" which was released on 04 December 2011. Although it is his lowest charting single to date, it was still a big hit and charted at #4. The third single from "Symphonies" was "The Perfect Melody" featuring Veronica Nightshade. Released on 05 February 2012, it gave Vixen her second #1 single. The fourth and final single from the album was "To The End". Released on 04 November 2012 it charted at #5.
2012-2013: Decline in popularity[edit | edit source]
After finishing with her debut album, the first release from Vixen was her Christmas single. Released on Christmas week, 17 December 2012, "The EsseXmas EP" became a massive dissapointment compared to Vixen's previous releases, debuting at #30 and dropping out the charts 2 weeks later. After this, Vixen tried to revive her career by entering the 2013 Tango Challenge. She was partnered with former collab partner Nicholas X. Their single "Glass" was released 04 March 2013 and was another commerical failure for Vixen, only reaching #21 in the charts, and coming last place in the tango challenge. Vixen also features on "Stand Up For Sunflowers" the charity single for sunflowers, by Sunflower of Shade which charted at #8. It is unknown what Vixen will do next, possibly get a vajazzle and call it a day.
