"Without You" is the second single taken from Caymon's sophomore album Riders of the Night. The single was released on November 5th 2012 and charted at #9 on the Urapopstar singles charts, but failed to chart in any other country. It's under-performance led to Caymon's label opting to re-release Riders of the Night in February 2013. It is Caymon's lowest selling single so far and has not been certified in any country.

In mid-September 2012 it was announced on Caymon's official website that "Rockstar" featuring Ashley! and Melody Jackson from Bloom would serve as the second single from the album. It was due to be released on October 15th. However, Fusion Records felt the song was "too good" to be released so soon and insisted it be released towards the end of the campaign to boost sales. They then cancelled the release and chose the Lana Del Rey cover "Without You" as the official second single.

Composition[edit | edit source]

The song differs slightly from the original track by Lana Del Rey in that it is produced as more of a generic "pop ballad". The original track is considered to be much more alternative, whereas Caymon's version is straight-forward pop, in order to appeal to his core fanbase. The lyrics are altered slightly as Caymon directs them towards a girl. In Del Rey's version, she is singing about a boy.

Music Video[edit | edit source]

The music video was directed by Anthony Mandler (who directed Caymon's previous video for "Girls") and premiered on October 12th 2012.
The video is rather basic and consists of Caymon on a deserted beach singing the song. Flashbacks of him and his presumed ex-girlfriend are shown throughout.
Once the final chorus kicks in, Caymon leaves the beach and is walking along the side of a quiet road. The video ends with a car pulling up and Caymon getting inside. The car drives off and the screen fades to black.
