Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Bleak, was born and bred in London. As the oldest of three sisters, Bleak graduated high school alongside her childhood sweetheart Cliff Edgehill, whom she married in secret at the beginning of her musical career. News broke recently that Bleak fell pregnant during her high school years and gave birth to a daughter Romani Grace shortly before her exams at the age of 16. Her daughter was raised as her sister to avoid family shame and Bleak was locked away during the later stages of the pregnancy. She continued, with her families disapproval, dating her baby daddy Cliff.

Career[edit | edit source]

Bleak burst onto the URAPS scene with her debut single The EMO Revolution in January 2007. She shortly became famed for her lack of EMO attitude and was snapped up by ELITE records. Following numourous publicity, which included her secret wedding to Cliff Edgehill, Bleak scored her first top twenty single, when it charted at number #13.

Bleak followed this success with the early announcement of her second single, promotion began right away with the help of her first small university tour. Alice In Wonderhell, a Bleak written track, managed #16 in the charts despite higher predictions.

Musical Suicide was the debut album from Bleak, released in March 2007. It included her two previous singles aswell as ten new tracks, including one written by Shell Ruin. Her album became a top twenty hit, charting at number 16.

Bleak took the compliment of having a song written by Shell Ruin as a sign of what to release as her third single. Nobodys Fault But My Own became a radio hit and charted at #16 on its release, Bleak's worst single position to date.

Finally, Bleak made the decision to end her musical suicide era with Black Death. Another track written by herself produced her with another top fifteen hit, charting at number 15.

Dirty Romance, an Alesha written track, became Bleak's fifth single. This single marked the beginning of a new era of Bleak music and didnt hit the darker depths that her first album included. The upbeat track charted at #08 and helped Bleak score her first top ten hit. During promotion for her single, Bleak's marriage took a turn for the worst and Bleak & Cliff split after six months of marriage, shortly followed by news that Cliff had been killed in a lawn mower accident and Bleak was made prime suspect. In usual Bleak style, Bleak lined up her next single however plans were halted when the world learned of her pregnancy, carrying her dead ex husbands child. Bleak stepped out of the spotlight for a few months until Christmas 2007 when she gave birth to her first son Jesus Jonah September.

Bleak returned to the music scene with Masquerade, a self written track which was recieved with rave reviews and allowed Bleak to secure another #8 single. The single was followed by the release of Bleak's second studio album Cirque De Bleak which set Bleak new heights when it charted at #06. Securing Bleak her first top ten album, it also included duets with the likes of Queen Alesha, China and Jace Clemson.

Bleak's second single from Cirque De Bleak was Catwalk Kills, originally an album track with Alesha, released as a solo version. It charted at #06 and gave Bleak her best single position to date.
