The Christmas Chart Show is one of Urapopstar's greatest holiday traditions. The Christmas chart is counted down on the Urapopstar forums, interspersed with performances and commentaries, taking on the format of BBC Radio 1's official UK chart show. Christmas week is the one and only time of the year where the Urapopstar Top 40 Singles Chart is counted down live on the forums.

2004[edit | edit source]

The 2004 Christmas Chart Show is one of Urapopstar's most memorable moments. When Band Of Boyz's single "Everything In The World" came in higher than duets from Putanovska & Chris Jones and D' & Auntie FannyFlap, a huge uproar was created and a vast majority of the Urapopstar population took their anger out on Amy Marshall. Her only defense was "it's just a game".

Putanovska suffered vaginal bleeding and needed to be rushed to the hospital after she learned that her single charted at #17. Justin Case praised Band Of Boyz's entry, claiming it was much more deserving than Riley Hart's sympathy vote. CeCe Winston wondered who Band Of Boyz were in the first place.

Co-admin Adam Hayden tried keeping the peace with what was one of the most memorable quotes of the show: "Right. Calm down now. There's always one strange high new entry - it's nothing new, it's happened for well over the past year. Get over it. BOB did OK promotion, nothing amazing, but people voted for it, so tough shit. There's gonna be sympathy aplenty next week... God, we've got people arguing, someone bleeding, and someone randomly shouting out swear words like they've got tourettes. LOL. How very Christmas"

Many old timers on Urapopstar regard the 2004 Christmas Chart Show as one of the greatest moments of Urapopstar history. Snippets from the chart show were even used in an extended remix of the next year's Christmas #1 single, Fat Lady's "The Most Fattening Time Of The Year".

2005[edit | edit source]

Due to the success of the previous Christmas Chart Show, another one was held for 2005. At the time, a mysterious entry on the release schedule read "TBA - TBC" and was penciled in for a January 2 release. Most people assumed that it was a no promo act who would DNC without question, but it turned out to be GirlSound. The pop trio had been inactive for six months and made a surprising return at the Christmas Chart Show to reveal they would release a new single, "No Conversation Anymore", on January 2, even though they just had two weeks to promote.

The chartings of Casey and Ellen Fitzpatrick's singles resulted in some unflattering remarks, but the outrage wasn't as bad as the previous year. Malena did, however, lighten the mood by turning the show into a whole big orgy.

2006[edit | edit source]

The Christmas chart surprised many for not being as dragged out as the previous two shows. Co-hosted by Emblaze and Izzy, and featuring a host of superstar performances, listeners learned that Jake and Nikki's Grease EP outsold Nate Brown by a mere 1651 copies, the closest Christmas week battle so far.

2007[edit | edit source]

King of Pop Jack Stevens hosted the 2007 Christmas Chart Show. Performances came from Alesha & Neyssa, Carl Reeves, INTOXICATED, Venus Vegas, and more. New releases came from Alfie Outcast & Josie Matthews, China (with her debut single), Christine Tyler, INTOXICATED, Izzy, and TWISTED DISCO!. INTOXICATED were #1.

2008[edit | edit source]

Ben Johnston hosted the 2008 Christmas Chart Show which saw new releases from Jake & Yannik, Kelly Brown, and Rita Repulsa & Andre. Performances came from Alesha, China, Innocent, Romo, and Sandi Cohen, among others. Jake & Yannik were crowned number one. Their single, "Partners In Crime/Not Tonight Santa", became one of the best-selling of all-time.

2009[edit | edit source]

The 2009 Christmas Chart Show was hosted by China, who had an incredibly successful, record-breaking year. Her collaboration with Indigo Peak, "Fire! Scream!"/"Pornographic", was one of the contenders, as well as Ben Johnston and Logan Cross. Indigo Peak & China were crowned Christmas #1.

2010[edit | edit source]

The 2010 Christmas Chart Show will be hosted by newcomer MIDNIGHT, one of the most successful acts of the year. A number of high-profile singles were released, such as collaborations between Ben Johnston & Victor Strong (the eventual #1), Indigo Peak & Putanovska, Just Ginger & Ellen Fitzpatrick, and TWISTED DISCO! & Crystal Barker.
