Dirty Talk is the debut studio album by Cesca Leigh, released independently on December 9 2014. Upon release, the album managed to chart at #2, going on to be certified Platinum months later.

The debut single, 'Save It For The Bedroom', was released in July 2013 and managed a top five debut. 'Don't Fuck With Me' followed in December 2013 and preceded the album, charting at number four with the album managing a top two debut. Months later in June 2014, the third single 'Pixelz' was released and charted at number two. The fourth and final single, 'Better Than You' became the singer's first number one in August 2014.

The album spent 44 weeks in the chart, and finished it's chart run with a Platinum certification, having sold 907,905 copies.

Singles[edit | edit source]

Save It For The Bedroom[edit | edit source]

Save It For The Bedroom is the debut single from Cesca Leigh and was released in July 2013 to mixed reviews from critics, who praised it's unique sound and production, but criticised the message and choice of style over substance. It became a moderate success upon release, and despite being Leigh's lowest charting single (#5), overall it was the highest selling single from the album (and of Leigh's career to date), becoming certified Gold with sales of 308,861.

Don't Fuck With Me[edit | edit source]

Don't Fuck With Me was the second single from the album, and was released in December 2013, on the same day as the album itself. Charting at number four, the single was a moderate success on the charts, charting one position higher than the debut at #4, despite selling slightly less with 303,505 copies sold and a Gold certification. Generally, the single received mixed reviews, but many critics noted it as an improvement over the debut single, but the excessive explicit language was a main factor contributing to the negative reviews.

Pixelz[edit | edit source]

Pixelz was the third single from the album, picked up as a single in June 2014, following a nationwide tour in support of the album. The only single from the era not to be written by Cesca, the Aurora Reed penned track gained positive reviews from critics, who enjoyed the change of direction and noted that Leigh was more of a 'performer than writer' and suggested she should take less of a frontal approach to the next album. Despite this being a fan and critic favourite, and charting at #3, the single is the lowest selling of the era, managing just 234,216 copies to scrape a Silver certification.

Better Than You[edit | edit source]

Better Than You was the fourth and final release from the album, and became Cesca's first single to chart at number one. Being released in August 2014 after arguing whether or not to release a fourth single, Cesca chose it after reviewing the tracks with the best fan and critic reaction, eventually deciding for this one, over a ballad as many had suggested. The track however only managed to sell 285,327, managing a xxxxxxx certification (due to certification boundaries being adjusted). The single received mainly positive reviews for its sassy and fiery nature, although some deemed it a desperate last push for the album.
