The Early Years[edit | edit source]

He's gone from blonde boy next door to foul mouthed filthy fitty all in the space of three years. Now he's the biggest selling male artist of the past few years and with more talent in the bedroom than in the studio, it's quite a shock that this auto-tuning master is such a big star.

Born on the 18th November 1982 in North London, Farley didn't come from a wealthy up bringing he lived in a medium sized three bedroomed semi with one sister, one brother and his Mum and Dad. He attended his local comprehensive where he spent more time bunking off lessons for a quick shag and crafty fag than paying attention in lessons.

After dropping out of university at 19, Jon quickly found a job in a London office and spent his time there until the end of 2003. Whilst on a night out, Jon started whistling in the gents at a night club, whilst having a piss. After hearing his whistling, a top music manager (obviously pissed) praised it and signed him up straight away. Three months later Jon had a single ready to unleash to the UK.

Shattered[edit | edit source]

After being hynotized out of his firery, balchy personality by his record company and having his hair dyed blonde also by his record company, Jon started a hectic promotion campaign for debut single Behind My Back which was released on April 5th 2004. The single plonked into the charts at #12 and was a huge disappointment for Jon's label at the time Baa Inc.

The next single would be the launch for Jon's debut album which was mostly written by other people and featured little decent material. Thirsty/Caught On You did no better than the previous single and the album Shattered limped in at pitiful #19 and quickly bombed down the chart. An all round disappointment for everyone involved.

However one track on the album provided Jon with the hit he had finally craved for after a jam packed campaign to get the single out there, Media Attention jumped in at #5 with company from ex.one and Miss Drips. The final single from Shattered showcased a more slow side to Jon, Receipt For My Soul was backed with a big budget video and album re-release and hit #7 in November 2004.

In total Shattered sold a disappointing 304,000 copies, peaked at #7 and gave Jon the carisma to produce an album which would put him on the map as a real artist. When he returned he promised he would be the male singer who'd make a difference.

Falling From The Threshold[edit | edit source]

In February 2005, Jon launched the more rock oriantated single to the buying public titled Off The Ricther Scale but even a performance at the Urapopstar 9 Awards couldn't persuade music lovers to get it. The single limped in at a disappointing #8 and didn't provide much interest in Jon's sophomore album Falling From The Threshold, which incorperated a more honest indie adult flavour to Jon's unique electro pop sound.

During the spring Jon battled in a legal dispute with record label Baa Inc and ended up burning their HQ down. After signing a million pound contract with ex.one, Whiplash was released in June. The single was branded as utter filth by Music Week and had a much more electro punk flavour. For the very first time in his career Jon let loose his mouthy, rude and disrespectful personality which had been inside of him from the very start. The antics he used to promote the single worked and it became Jon's biggest single so far charting at #4.

Carrying on with his school boy ways Farley's second single I Flick A Few Fingers was hailed as one of the best pop singles of the year. It charted at #2 and put Jon on the map as a outlandish entertainer. The single also helped give the album a healthy climb. Good Thing Gone/Stay was the next single to be lifted from the album. One side written by the three rockers with knockers and their fat cow and the other side originally performed by Shakespear's Sister. It gave Jon another hit this time at #3 and was one of the tracks for Christmas. 24/7 was rushed out in January and pushed Falling From The Threshold to a diamond status of 1.2 million copies and a peak of #3. This also was the time when Jon started a famous on-going fued with fat songwriting genius Russ Hooch. It was during this time Jon established himself across Europe and South East Asia and now he's selling records left, right and centre.

Songs You Wish You Wrote[edit | edit source]

In the middle of spring 2006, a completely electro 80s inspired, catchy chorused, lyrically unique track called Roll The Dice hit radio stations across the country. It was infact the new Jon Farley single and people were shocked by what they were hearing, a whole new modern sound accompanied by a more toungue and cheek Jon. The single peaked at #2 and gave the perfect launch for Jon's third album Songs You Wish You Wrote. The album was complete sidestep in direction, pure power pop maxed out with contempary beats and catchy riffs. Receiving 5 star rave reviews by the critics, the album hit the #1 spot and shifted 100,000 copies in it's first week. The album also hit #1 in Germany, Japan, Ireland and Holland.

Boiling Point was the next single to be lifted from the album. Fueled up by utter filth and sex, the club anthem was the sound of the summer and possibly told the story of Jon's many sex antics. His list of ladies includes; Claire Kitten, JADED! all 5, Ivy, Delta Nu, Melissa Moore, Annalina, Izzy, Alesha, Buffi, Vivian just to name a few. The single gave Jon an overdue #1 in August of 2006, was seventh biggest single of the year with 360,000 copies sold and gave Jon a nomination in Record of The Year 2006.

After the release In November, Jon Farley and surely the biggest act ever Emblaze teamed up to release Top Up My Glass packed with fun and frolics the lads describe the single as simply having a laugh. Despite Jon almost splitting the group up the single charted at #1 and went platinum.

Jon releases fourth and final single from Songs You Wish You Wrote Scratchy Vinyls a danced oriantated love story on March 12th. Jon will be embarking on a hectic promotion campaign and will be present at the BAFTAs, Dancing On Ice, The Charlotte Church Show, The Album Chart Show, Al Murray's Happy Hour, Popworld, GMTV and Comic Relief Does Fame Academy. And whilst he does this the album continues to ride high on 1.5 million copies in the UK and a total of 4.8 million worldwide.

Tours[edit | edit source]

Live From The Threshold[edit | edit source]

Jon went on the road with his sophomore album in the Summer of 2005 with an intensive theatre tour. Jon played 22 dates to almost 100,000 people in total. There was plenty of dancing and singing all around but Jon admitted it still wasn't the show he'd like to put on.

The Stage You Wish You Were On[edit | edit source]

Jon played over 30 dates over Europe and Japan in some of the grandest arenas in the world. 350,000 people across the globe witnessed The Stage You Wish You Were On which was described as absolutely SPECTACULAR by the Guardian. Despite not having the best voice in the biz, Jon struggled his way through a 20 song set list whilst parading, flying, getting wet, pole dancing, playing with fire on a gigantic stage. Support acts included LEGENDS Jack Stevens, JADED! and Izzy.
