Monique Riley, born in South Spain, Marbella on the 20th of December 1983 to Jefferson Riley and Dolores Fuernos, is best known for her indecisiveness in the business, but most of all for her singing. Riley is one of two children within the Riley household, along with her older brother, Shawn Riley. Hitting the Uraps scene late December 2005, Riley has merely made a name for herself in the year and a half she's spent before her. She's been an on and off act battling an alcoholic past and an abusive father and has returned for another shot at the bitch-hard industry.

Growing Up[edit | edit source]

Growing up, Monique Riley was the top and honor student in class at the private school, St. Lawrence, which she'd attended all her life. She grew up as an aspiring actress. At age 3, her family moved to San Francisco where her father had grown up having grown tired of the holiday life in Spain. From then on she'd started appearing in numerous local commercials and took part in school plays, managing the main role most times. She grew up in the big city and the competition was harsh. When she went for training at a Performing Arts Summer School she discovered the power in her voice and soon after decided to pursue music instead of film. She graduated 2 years earlier then her class and soon attended a small University of Music. When she emerged at Uraps in early 06, she'd been living with Shawn and 3 other close friends of theirs in a New York loft, managing only just to pay the rent.

Music[edit | edit source]

Monique began her career signed onto the then major label, Tigerstar records. On 13th March 2006, Riley's debut single was released and peaked charts at #18. Riley was not seen or heard from after that and her album was never released.

Comeback 2006[edit | edit source]

She returned in August claiming she'd left for family issues, having revamped herself to a sexier, less 'nice' persona and soon after confessed to have returned to her alcoholic traits once more, which had been provoked during her break. She then got signed on with Alias and began promotion. Her second single, which was to be from an entirely different album, was officially announced. 'Laced Up Boots' written by Paul the PR was set to hit charts October 9th. Unfortunately, Riley disappeared by the time September came round.

The Second Return[edit | edit source]

Monique returned once again now in June 2007, announcing yet another 'start over' with a completely new and fresh look. Neither her single nor album have been confirmed or announced but Riley has managed her way back into her well worthy label, Alias Records and hopes to release by the end of August.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Entrepreneurship[edit | edit source]

In 2006 Monique decided to start up her own line of restaurants. She'd announced the opening of 'Giorni in Campagna' (g-or-knee.een.camp-a-nia // Days in the Country) on March 2006, again, because of her disappearance the restaurant didn't follow through. But during her first return she set up her shique line of restaurants named 'Le Nique' in five cities around the globe (New York, Chicago, Brighton, London and Sydney) This followed through and was what Monique focused on most during her second break from the limelight.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Monique was never very focused on men, and had been very cautious at all times because of her abusive father. Before disappearing for the first time in March 06, Monique had begun a serious relationship with the Maracca Shaker, 'Harry' from Partial Adaption. When she returned on August, Harry Halliwell was no where to be found and the relationship was broken off. Though sighted through URAPS a couple of times, the two have not come close to speaking in over a year.

During her return, in all vulnerability, Monique took a hit from Paulo Araujo (who seems still undecided about his sexuality). They spent the night together, and Monique was torn from his betrayal. The stupid woman should've known better.

Film & Television[edit | edit source]

Monique starred in a hit chick flick film that she'd filmed March 06, and was launched in November of that year. The movie was a chick flick based film that starred known Hollywood actors such as Anna Faris and Rob Schneider. Monique played the main role of a girl in her late teens who switched lives with a 'loser' from the valley, where as she was a rich senior from L.A.'s Beverly Hills. The film created a lot of controversy as her fans didn't like the fact she was playing the part of a bimbo and she has a person with morals was personally against them.

Moni & Co. was the chat show that Monique had set up, extravagantly funded by Alias Records during her first return. It was going to be a gut wrenching, hilarious and simultaneously rocking talk show with all of URAPS a-listers and was set to have it's first season to start airing on the 2nd week of April. Unfortunately, like most of Monique's earlier projects (by that we mean during her stay in 2006) it didn't follow through, because Monique had vanished from the scene for the second time.
