Rochelle White is a UK based indie act currently signed with Ensemble Entertainment.

She is most noted for her hits "Kill Bill," "Anti Fashionista," and "Sobriety," as well as her may celebrity feuds, namely girlgroup Rouge and popstar Alexis.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Rochelle was born March 28 in Richmond London. An outgoing and bulshy girl, the singer reportedly got herself into more than her fair share of scraps, and following years of unrest at her secondary school, Rochelle was expelled. The star began to show an avid interest in music, most notably excelling at playing the guitar, and at age 15, she enrolled in the Italia Conti Arts School in London, where she honed her skills in singing, dancing and playing the guitar.

At aged 15, White's parents tragically died in a car accident and Rochelle went on to live with her grandmother, before graduating at 18, moving to Camden where the star is currently based and persuing a career in the music industry.

During her time at Italia Conti, Rochelle's unusual vocal range which can reach decidedly low depths caaught the attention of Ensemble Entertainment who regularly hired the rising star as a session singer, laying down vocals for demo tracks and backing. As her skills and songrwriting talents flourished, then label boss Jack Stevens offered the singer a three album deal. July 2008 saw the release of her first single and number four hit "Kill Bill," a critically acclaimed track penned by Rochelle.

Off the back of this success, a quickly planned follow up in the form of "Anti Fashionista," was released. The single was an instant success, reaching a peak of number two in September 2008. In the same month, the album followed, reaching the coveted number one position but despite it's success, the singer was displeased with it's "rushed, contrived content," and a mutual decision was made to shelve the album - cancelling the planned release of "Mono," a collaboration with Taylor Farley.

2009-2010: Return to music[edit | edit source]

Early 2009 saw a welcome return to the music scene from Rochelle, who although vowing to not release another full album until she felt the quality was right, had penned and recorded a new single entitled "Sobriety." Featuring a matured musical style in comparison to her previous releases, the single was an instant hit when it reached it's peak of number five. Although the singer is reportedly writing and recording new music, no plans for an album release have been set in stone as yet. The star is said to be deciding on a new single for a potential mid 2010 release.

Public Image[edit | edit source]

Rochelle has carved an image for herself as a "no holds barred," individual, publicly attacking many acts.

During promotion for her second single Anti Fashionista, Rochelle made waves in the media as a result of her high profile fued with girlgroup ROUGE whilst at the same time appearing in a sex tape with dance act UpTempo.

Most notable, was Rochelle's sudden move from a one bedroom council flat in Brixton to a swanky london pad previously occupied by ROUGE before they were ejected by Ensemble bosses for "trashing the place."

Perez Hilton famously reported on the public outfall between Rochelle and Asylum singer Alexis during September 2008. The pair exchanged more than a few words of hatred at the same time being branded "fakes," and doing it for publicity as both had singles released the same day.
