Sidonia Sinn, (born on August 11th 1985) is a British recording artist and songwriter. Sidonia began gigging at the age of 16 across small London venues, perfoming covers as well as original material. Her career really took off in 2006 with the release of her debut single Devils Whore. She has since notched up three top ten singles, two Uraps Award nominations and released two albums, Married To My Misery and Spark My Interest.
Sidonia is heavily inspired by satanic rituals, prostitution, illegal drug use and serial killings.

Where did it all begin?[edit | edit source]

Not being a natural singer, Sidonia found herself turned away from respectable music schools, gig venues and numerous record company's, down on her luck Sinn was ready to pack in her hopes and dreams. Then luckily, one bitter winters night while Sidonia was filling out her Sainsbury's job application form, a dark hooded figure appeared at her door. Following a lengthy discussion, the mystery man offered to become Sidonia's PR, claiming he could snare her a record deal and make her a house hold name. Having nothing to lose, Sidonia jumped at the chance and slowly but surely, she began gigging across run down seedy clubs in east London. Scraping together the pennies she'd earn from the gigs, Sidonia bought some studio time and recorded a grainy, poor quality version of what later became her debut single, 'Devils Whore'. On September 18th Sidonia and her PR highered out a small hall in central London, where Sidonia was officially launched on the world. Following the gigs success, Sidonia was offered a one single deal with Alias.

Married To My Misery[edit | edit source]

Released the day before Halloween on 30th October following an intense promotional campaign, which saw Sidonia make an enemy of Jane McDonald, attack an elderly lady and start up a fleeting romance with a member of Splinter, Sidonia achieved a top ten debut. Devils Whore clawed its way into the charts at number 8, shifting over 70,000 copies. Delighted with her achievements, Sidonia took a short break before announcing she was to take part in the TANGO Challenge where herself and Innocent eventually took second place in the contest, with her second single ‘Dead and Buried’ entering the charts at number 6. The year also saw Sidonia land herself a nomination for Best Newcomer at the URAPS Awards.

Flushed with success, Sidonia finally released her debut album ‘Married To My Misery’, lead by the cheerless third single ‘Are You Suffering?’ Sidonia was reluctant to promote the new release, believing the material was strong enough to speak for itself. It wasn’t. The single crashed into the charts at a limp number 11 and soon slipped down the chart. Despite the singles failings the album entered the top ten at number seven. Disappointed and disgusted by her efforts, Sidonia decided to push on with the campaign and two months later fourth single ‘Nancy’ was released. The single tanked, driving Sidonia into a pit of tears and depression. Months later Sinn resurfaced to present the prestigious red carpet show for 14th Urapopstar Awards, where she was also nominated for a second year, this time in the Best Rock Act category.

Spark My Interest[edit | edit source]

Following the moderate success of her debut album Sidonia took a small holiday, before returning a year later to launch her second album ‘Spark My Interest’. The first single to be lifted from the album was ‘Spit’, a miserable dirge of a song about self hatred.

As well as releasing music, Sidonia sees herself as a bit of a law enforcer. Her biggest achievement came in Febraury 2008 when she dragged Twist loser and part time paedophile, Claire out of her bed in the small hours and stabbed her with a kitchen knife. Sidonia is said to be currently looking for her next big case to crack.

Sorrowfully, Sidonias follow up album was received less well than her debut, peaking at number seven and rapidly slipping down the charts. The album was reduced to £4.99 in a number of record stores just 3 weeks after release. In a bid to salvage the album Vixenation reluctantly permitted Sidonia a follow up release of album favourite ‘Doctor Blind’. However the label later became nervous about the release and it became a download only single, with no promotion and no video.
