"Waiting" is the eighth single from the British singer Ruby and the Gems, and third from her third studio album "Warrior".

Background[edit | edit source]

This song was originally made to be the lead single from the album Warrior, but after a long and hard decision, Ruby decided it would be the best to leave the era with, as she confirmed this would be the finals single from the album before her re-release.

Release and reception[edit | edit source]

The song had a three month promotional run whilst Ruby was on tour, meaning there was time to boost up an audience for the track. There were many reviews about the album and the track in general seemed to soar with the ratings. "The song combines what Ruby is about, fun yet powerful and strong lyrics with a catchy backing track. She's able to create outstanding tracks effortlessly" is what NME said about her and the track in general. A lot of critics feel that this single and Guy Like You are two of her strongest to date and show her progression as an artist.
