Britney Aguilera is a former pop star whose career spanned from 2001 to 2005. She scored eighteen hit singles, including sixteen top 10 hits; she never scored a #1 of her own, despite appearing on Rap's #1 hit Make It Happen/Purr Baby. In a sea of British acts, her American persona and music shined through.

History[edit | edit source]

In October of 2001, a 19 year old girl named Britney Aguilera burst onto the music scene with her catchy tune My Name Is Britney. The single instantly made Britney a superstar when it debuted at #4 in the Top 40 charts. Two weeks later, her debut album also entitled My Name Is Britney debuted on the Album Charts at #2. Her five singles from the album all debuted within the Top 10, 4 of them in the Top 5.

"It was amazing and shocking to learn that people actually liked what I was about." says Britney remembering her early years. Britney then starred in the movie Crossroads. The soundtrack for that has become the highest charting soundtrack in Urapopstar history.

A relationship developed between Mark Blucas and Britney Aguilera, when they dueted together on Marks single Scream. They later broke up due to rumors of Britney cheating surfaced. Things took another shocking turn when she covered a familiar single Baby One More Time, which debuted at #16 on the singles charts. "Baby One More Time" was the 1st single off her sophomore album titled Britney. The album managed to barely hit the Top 10. "It was kind of hard, because I thought people were already getting sick of me". But that wasn't the case. Britney was being ridiculed for not being original, she was instead following in the footsteps of another pop star.

Britney soldiered on with a remix album 5 months later called Britney: Not Just Another Remix Album. The album had remixes from her 2 previous albums, including 5 new tracks. The first single off the album was called I'm A Slave 4 U (KJ Reputation Mix). The single featured former Urapopstar Kelli J. The single was a smash and debuted at #3 on the singles Charts. Her 2nd single I'm Gonna Be Alright which featured Aaron Blucas was another disappointment when it debuted at #16. Her last single from the album which was another duet with Kelli J, Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know (KJ Reputation Mix) debuted at #3 on the singles charts. "The remix album did pretty good, so I was pleased with it."

A romance started between Britney and a new popstar named Jay Breen. The two became a serious couple, but later split because Jay accused Britney of cheating. Britney was going through a dark time in her life when she wrote her new album called Nobody Noticed It. The album reflected Britney and how she felt. "I was very depressed and just sad about a lot of things that have been going wrong in my life." The first single called You Missed Out Babe debuted in the Top 5 at # 4. The other singles of the album managed to stay in the top 10.

Almost a year later ,Britney met a new man named Justin Case. The two were almost inseparable, but once again, trust became an issue when Britney was accused of cheating on him. Britney released her 5th album called Carnivale. The album debuted at #4 and Britney was pleased with the results. The first single titled Tease debuted at #5 on the charts. Her next single Suicide debuted in the Top 10. The song was controversial because of what it had to deal with. Mr. Sexual and Spiritually were supposed to be released as singles as well but a shocking discovery happened in Britney's life when she found out she was pregnant with Justin Cases' baby. With her career going on the downside and her not getting much respect, Britney decided it was time to bow out of the spotlight and release her greatest hits collection.

The greatest hits album titled Hits is a reflection of what Britney is all about. "The album tells you a story about my life and it tells you what I'm all about and how I've grown." said Britney. The Hits first single is called All I Wanna Do and it's about Britney just wanting to have fun.

Through thick and thin, Britney managed to accomplish what a lot of pop stars can't manage to accomplish. She has reinvented herself time after time. With over 20 singles released, one movie, one soundtrack and 6 albums, Britney was one of the best entertainers in the world. "I think it's time for me to go and live life. I'm gonna start a family and be a single mother and I just want to take time and enjoy life. Only time can tell if I will be returning, but until then all I have to say is...Peace."

After the Hits album was released...the thought to be the final single All I Wanna Do debuted at #2 and the album debuted at #2... and then, in the summer of 2005, Britney made a comeback with her final album to date, Leo. The single, Attention, despite tough competition, criticism, and ridicule because of her failed label at the time, Mystic Inc., still made the top 10. Another single, "Lost", was planned, but ended up cancelling. Britney tried another comeback in 2006, with a single called Burnin' Up, but this failed to make the top 40.

It's unclear where Britney is now, but she is reportedly homeless and living off the streets, somewhere near 4tune.
