Melissa Moore (born 14 April, 1985) is an American, Pop-singing socialite. Born and raised in L.A., she moved to the UK in 2004 at the age of 18 when she applied for the 5th series of the hit UK TV show Uraps Idol. She's gone on to sell over two million records in the UK alone, and over fifteen million around the world.

Uraps Idol[edit | edit source]

Melissa Moore was one of the first true stars to come out of the top UK TV show Uraps Idol. Melissa, who was 18 at the time and very virginal, went on to finish 4th in the competition, but was the red hot favourite to win throughout the show. Uraps Idol was the break Melissa needed in order to make it in the music business, and to start with it was hard for her to shake the reality show tag.

Melissa went back to Uraps Idol in late 2005, but as a judge! The singer who was made on the show decided she wanted to be part of the panel who give their verdict on the current performers, but after rows with fellow judge Russ Hooch, Melissa quit.

2004[edit | edit source]

Melissa shot into the charts a few months after she was booted off the show in June 2004. Her debut single was penned by chart topping band Innocent and went into the charts at #14. Not an amazing height for an Idol.

Melissa didn't let that get her down, she came back with another Pop anthem, which threw her into the top 5 UK singles chart, and her debut album narrowly missed out on the top 5, but went on to reach Gold status.

Soon after the album release, Melissa released the final single from the album and made it a double a-side with a song taken from the official soundtrack to her first blockbuster movie!

2004 was a huge year for Melissa musically, but it was only the very start of what would be a hugely successful career for the 18 year-old.

2005[edit | edit source]

2005 was the year people really took notice of who Melissa Moore really was. Almost 20 years old, Melissa knew it was time for a change. Undress Me With Your Eyes was the first release from her second album Eccentric Barbie Doll. Both releases were a gigantic success worldwide! Going straight in at #01 and spending weeks on the chart, they both went down in Urapopstar history. Undress Me With Your Eyes became the 6th biggest selling single in Urapopstar history (as from January 2007) and her album sold millions worldwide.

The follow-up singles from the album all went on to be top 5 hits and Liar Liar became the last release from Melissa in 2005.

Melissa decided to take a break so she could concentrate on her direction for the third album. And that she did. 2006 was the year of no Melissa, but during this time, the album was slowly and carefully pieced together for an early 2007 release...

2007[edit | edit source]

Well 2007 has just begun, but we already know what Melissa has planned for us early on. The lead single from the third album, Gucci Baby and the eagerly awaited third album Secretary both get released on February 26.

Movies[edit | edit source]

During Melissa's career she's starred in three movies, and all 3 were big hits at the box office.

Roadkill 2: Rusty's Revenge was Melissa's first motion picture and she starred alongside fellow popstars Holly Marie Combs (Innocent) and IVY. The film also starred top actors Paul Walker and Steve Zahn from the first movie. Although it didn't get very good reviews, the film peaked at #01 at the box office.

The controversial Race was Melissa's second film, it tells the story of racism in the 1930's, and it was Melissa's big break into serious acting. Melissa played Mary Goseph, a woman who falls in love with a black man in olden day America. They decide to go on the run together after their familes and the racist society drives them out, but they're being looked for.

The film was nominated for 8 Oscars and walked away with 2 - one in which won Melissa the award for Best Actress! The film was granted "a touching love story" with an end that will have the tears flowing.

It also starred Mekhi Phifer and singing pal RoXie.

In November 2006 DOLLS was released. The film, very much similar to iRobot and The Stepford Wives, was set in the year 3000 and told the story of female dolls that were meant to be helping around the house, but instead went on a massive killing spree. The film was laughed at and was given bad reviews, but still managed to get to a respectable #03 at the box office. The film also starred Lindsay Lohan and popstar Chris Jones.

Melissa decided to take a short break from movies to concentrate on her music career.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

In early 2004, Melissa confirmed that she was dating fellow Uraps Idol contestant Peter. The pair were infatuated with each other and Melissa revealed that he was the one she lost her virginity to aged 18.

The pair ended in August 2004 and blamed it on "busy schedules" but rumours circulated about him abusing her after she was spotted with a black eye after a bust up. Melissa put a rest to the rumours and the pair got back together in September and ended officially in March 2005. The final split was rumoured to be because of Peter's jealousy at other men in her music videos, but again it was put down to "busy schedules".

Melissa cried live on TV over her split with Peter which gained her a lot of sympathy for her situation.

In April of 2005, one month after her split with X3D boyfriend Peter, Melissa was spotted on a date with Tom Owen. They went on a date to Pizza Express which gained her a deal with the pizza chain. The pair revealed they are only good friends after their date and there was no evidence to prove otherwise.

Melissa then revealed at her 19th birthday in April that she'd been dating popstar Jack Stevens since late March. He'd been there to console her over her split with Peter and the pair hit it off from there. The couple lasted 2 months. Melissa dumped Jack in May 2005 after it was rumoured he'd been having sex with pop granny Auntie FannyFlap. It didn't help that he admitted to finding Claire Kitten more attractive than her after Melissa topped the Uraps Sexiest Female poll.

Melissa and Jack hit newspapers again in November 2005 after they had a "moment of weakness". Oops!

Even though the pair didn't date long, they still remain one of pops most talked about couples.

Since then, Melissa has been linked to other male stars, most recently Paulo Araujo, but she's still looking for her mister right.
