"Until The End Of Time" is a single by pianist and singer Arianna DiCorso, penned by Elice Claire and released as the fourth single from Arianna's debut album "Take A Picture, It'll Last Longer". The single was released on July 2nd, 2012, where it became Arianna's second consecutive career #1. It was the last single to be taken from the album in the UK, until Arianna later decided to release "Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" in October.

Background[edit | edit source]

Elice Claire wrote "Until The End Of Time" in 2011, and she shopped the demo out. Arianna was the one to buy the demo, and she went into the studio with Elice to record her version of the song, working with Isabella Summers (of Florence & The Machine, and one of Elice's producers) on the song. Arianna chose the song to be the final single from the album as soon as she'd received it, and it was released earlier than expected after Arianna called it quits on the UK era early to focus on her career in America. Arianna recorded the song as a piano ballad, avoiding turning it into a power ballad yet still giving it an emotional feel. Elice Claire herself was a major supporter of the song's release.

Reception[edit | edit source]

"Until The End Of Time" was incredibly popular with fans, and with the public when it was announced as a single. Arianna's popularity was at a high off the back of her previous #1 hit which helped the song chart early on the digital charts, where it has topped the chart. Despite strong public reception, the song's response on radio was rather poor, greatly underperforming next to Arianna's previous radio hits by missing the top 20. The public backed Arianna to another chart-topper on both the digital and physical sales charts.

Music Video[edit | edit source]

The video opens with a shot of Arianna walking through the front hall of a large manor as the music begins. She turns to the camera and begins singing as she beckons the camera to follow her. She enters a large library where she walks over to a bookshelf, pulling out a book with "Until The End Of Time" engraved on the cover. She sets the book down on a table and opens it up to the picture of a girl. We cut to the world seen in the picture, where the girl is lying down on some cloth in the sand. Zooming in, we see this girl is played by Arianna. As the Arianna in the library reads, the other Arianna from the storybook gets up off the ground and walks along the desert floor. It seems to stretch on for miles until scattered objects are seen littering the desert. Arianna reaches what appears to be an abandoned theatre, and wanders in through the wings and out onto the stage, where a piano is sitting, covered with a cloth. Arianna steps in front of the piano, looking around in wonder at this timeless place. We see other performance shots of Arianna back in the front hall singing for the camera, this time in another outfit.

In the timeless storybook world, Arianna watches as a troupe of dancers in modern-gothic outfits trickle out onto the stage. Arianna sits down in one of the rows of seats to watch them perform while she sings to them. Eventually, they beckon her to come up on stage with them, pulling the sheet off the piano. As the chorus comes around for a second time, we see Arianna sit down and start to play for them as they continue to dance around her. Aerial shots and close-ups of her hands on the keys are shown frequently. One of the dancers beckons her away from the piano, and together the two of them perform a dance routine as Arianna sings the bridge. When the dance is over, she rushes up the staircase on the side up to the top of the stage area, where she stands and sings the rest of the song out to the theatre which is now packing, recounting her ‘love story’ during the final chorus. Other shots of Arianna back at the piano are shown intermittently. As the song ends, the Arianna in the library closes the book and puts it back on its shelf. The video ends with Arianna walking out of the manor.

Chart Performance[edit | edit source]

Arianna was receiving strong chart predictions from early on, since she was coming off the back of a major #1 hit, although her chart-topping potential was unclear due to a massive surge of support for newcomer Isaac Bellamy. The song prevailed however, becoming Arianna's second consecutive chart-topper. The song's digital performance was just as strong, hitting the chart early and peaking at #1 on the week of release to become Arianna's second-biggest digital hit to date. On radio, the single has been a failure, only peaking at #23 after over ten weeks on chart - a far cry from Arianna's previous singles, all of which were big airplay hits - especially "I Bite" which topped the airplay chart.
