Boys[edit | edit source]

The boys were mentored by singer Brett Clarkson

The "Boys" category was mentored by Brett Clarkson. Contestants in this category are males aged 16 to 24. The six candidates were Rod Cox, Calvin Hawthorne, Johnpaul, Rhys Lee, Justin Thorne and Noel West. Clarkson chose

Calvin Hawthorne[edit | edit source]

Calvin Hawthorne was not one of Brett's three choices to progress to the live shows, however he got the most votes to return out of the three rejects with 37.5% of the public vote. He was often considered a favourite for the bottom two from the beginning, however he managed to make it to 10th place, being the second of Brett's boys to be eliminated, after he fell of the stage during his performance and was unable to escape the double elimination on week 5.

Johnpaul[edit | edit source]

Johnpaul is a black rapper. He was Brett's first boy to be eliminated, finishing in 14th place after his elimination in week 2, where he sang against Sitty in the bottom two.

Rhys Lee[edit | edit source]

Rhys Lee was Brett's third act to be eliminated. He was voted out of the competition on Week 7, after being in the final showdown with Kicks and receiving the fewest number of votes, due to the judges vote being deadlocked. He came in 8th place overall. It is rumoured he may be working on his debut record.

Justin Thorne[edit | edit source]

Justin Thorne was the last of Brett's acts left in the competition. He was bottom two in week 6 against Ashley Morgan, however the judge's vote went to deadlock and it was revealed she had recieved the least number of votes. He was then once again bottom two in week 9, where he was eliminated in a double eviction alongside Jetfire, finishing in 5th/6th place.

Girls[edit | edit source]

The girls were mentored by singer Candi Elite

The "Girls" category was mentored by Candi. Contestants in this category are females aged 16 to 24. The six candidates were Dannii, Laurisa, Pandora, Sasha Snow, Pixie Starr and Aimee Stevens. Elite chose:

Pandora[edit | edit source]

Pandora is one of only three acts left in the competition. She never appeared in the bottom two throughout the entire competition. She made it to the live grand final where she eventually went on to win with 57% of the final vote.

Sasha Snow[edit | edit source]

Sasha Snow is one of the three act's left in the competition. She was not originally put through to the live shows, however she was voted as the public's top reject with 75% of the votes to return. She was in the bottom three in week 1, and after Audiodrama were instantly eliminated, she sang against Trixie Twilight. The judge's vote went to deadlock and it was revealed Trixie had the second least votes of the night, and Sasha had third. She wasn't in the sing off again until week 8, where she sang against Kicks. The vote once again went to Deadlock, where it was revealed Sasha had recieved more votes than Kicks, who were eliminated. She made it to the live grand final, where she finished in 3rd place with 14.29% of the vote.

Pixie Starr[edit | edit source]

Pixie Starr is is known for her rockstar image and slight attitude. She was well recieved and never appeared in the bottom 2, until the semi-final in Week 10, where she was the first of Candi's girls to be eliminated, finishing in 4th place overall.

Aimee Stevens[edit | edit source]

Aimee Stevens is one of only three acts left in the competition. She is known for her strong sexual chemistry with judge Brett Clarkson. She appeared in the bottom three alongside Justin Thorne and Jetfire in week 9, but it was revealed the other two acts had recieved less votes, and she survived to the semi final. She made it to the live grand final, and ended up as the series runner-up, getting 28.71% of the final vote.

Over 25s[edit | edit source]

The over 25s category was mentored by singer Stacy Hart

The "Over 25s" category was mentored by Stacy Hart. Contestants in this category are of either gender, aged 25 or over. There is no upper age limit. The six candidates were Sitty Bang Bang, Curtis Klassen, Sebastian LeBlanc, Ashley Morgan, Sheila Rose, and Trixie Twilight. They were the first category to loose all their acts. Hart chose:

Sitty Bang Bang[edit | edit source]

Sitty Bang Bang was not chosen as one of Stacy's final 3 acts, however she recieved 50% of the public vote to be brought back out of the Over's rejects. She was first in the bottom two in week 2, against Johnpaul. She was then in the bottom two once again in week 4, against Sebastian LeBlanc. Their mentor refused to chose between them, however Sebastian still recieved 2 out of the 3 votes and was eliminated. The next week, in week 5, Sitty was revealed to be in the bottom three. The person with the least votes was sent home instantly, and it was revealed Sitty had the least votes, meaning she finished in 11th place and was the third of Stacy's acts to be eliminated.

Sebastian LeBlanc[edit | edit source]

Sebastian LeBlanc was the second of Stacy's act to be eliminated. In week 3, he was put in the bottom 2 against girlgroup Kimono. This sing off attracted an enormous amount of press attention, as despite the fact Kimono's mentor James Moss could have voted against Sebastian (which would have made Deadlock where Sebastian would have gone home), he instead decided to vote out his own act Kimono, and save Sebastian. Despite this, the next week (week 4) Sebastian was once again bottom two, and voted out in 12th place.

Ashley Morgan[edit | edit source]

Ashley Morgan was the final of the Over's category to be eliminated. In week 6, she was in the bottom two, where the votes went to deadlock and she was voted out in 9th place.

Trixie Twilight[edit | edit source]

Trixie Twilight was the first of the over's to be eliminated. She had recieved minor media attention prior to the show due to her very brief relationship with Mitch. In week 1, she was in the bottom three, and after Audiodrama were immedietly sent home, she sang against Sasha Snow. After the vote went to deadlock, Trixie was revealed to have the least votes and was sent home.

Groups[edit | edit source]

The groups were mentored by singer James Moss

The Groups category was mentored by James Moss. Acts in this category are duos or vocal groups. All members must be aged 16 or over. The six candidates were Audiodrama, Dark Streets, Jetfire, Kicks, Kimono and Twinity. Moss chose:

Audiodrama[edit | edit source]

Audiodrama are a duo who finished in 16th place, being the first group and act eliminated in the competition. In week 1 they were revealed to have recieved the fewest votes and were sent home immedietly.

Since leaving the show they appeared on Violetta DiNozzo's single "Don't Play Those Games" which was a top 5 hit.

Jetfire[edit | edit source]

Jetfire are a four-piece boyband made up of members Aaron, Joey, Mikey and Sean. They were the very last group to be eliminated in the competition, after the double eviction in week 9 eliminated both them and Justin Thorne, leaving them to finish in 5th/6th place. Up until week 9, they had yet to appear in the sing off.

Kicks[edit | edit source]

Kicks were a four-piece boyband made up of Duane, Mj, Liam and jaden. They were the third group eliminated from the competition. They first appeared in the bottom two in week 7, against Rhys Lee. After the votes went to deadlock, Rhys was sent home. However the next week (week 8) they were in the bottom two once again, this time against Sasha Snow. The votes once again went to deadlock and Kicks went home in 7th place.

Kimono[edit | edit source]

Kimono are a three-piece girlband that are composed of Kaori Takahashi, Sakura Kimura and Hikario Onuki. They originally found fame on "The G Factor", reaching the final 11 before the show was cancelled. The girls recieved a lot of media attention, mostly due to the factor their mentor wasn't keen on them. They weren't chosen as one of his final three acts, however the public voted them back with 80% of the public vote. After singing "Steps" in Rock week (week 3) the girls were put in the bottom 2 against Sebastian LeBlanc. When the vote came down to their mentor, he sensationally sent home Kimono (his own act), despite the fact if he made the vote Deadlock, they would have stayed. They finished in 13th place.
