Spotlight[edit | edit source]

The debut single from Louise Harlow, "To The Shore", was a soft, emotional love ballad with a strong piano backing. This was originally supposed to be released through an independent label, Guru, but after taking advice from some of her peers who were introducing her to the popular music scene, she signed with Alias Records. The move helped give Louise a good start as the single debuted at #15. However, it wouldn't be until the follow-up, the Russ Hooch co-written "Exposed", when she would finally gain attention. A more upbeat record than her debut, "Exposed" benefited from a strong promo campaign and music video, as well as a countdown of the top 20 "exposed" embarrassing celebrity secrets. In spite of the hard work put into the single, it looked unlikely she'd get a hit out of her single when her debut album Spotlight entered the album charts at #30. Luckily, Louise had nothing to worry about - "Exposed" debuted and peaked at #2, leading the album to climb up to a new peak of #7.

Louise embarked on the Piano & Guitar tour with Luke Ramada in February 2007, which was appropriately timed to coincide with the release of her next single "Haunting". Though that single originally didn't do well in its first week, it climbed to #2 the week after, matching the peak of "Exposed".

Here With My Piano[edit | edit source]

Following the conclusion of the Piano & Guitar tour, Louise released an album of live recordings from the tour, Here With My Piano. The album includes four previously unreleased songs: "Piano & Guitar" (with Luke Ramada), "If I Fall" (with Olivia Dimuzio), a cover of Delta Goodrem's "Born To Try", and the album's only single, "Hana (Flower)", a duet with Melissa Grey. "Hana" and Here With My Piano each peaked at #9 on the charts.

The album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2006.

A Different Me[edit | edit source]

In late June 2006, Louise revealed the title of her comeback single, "Whisper My Name", a sexy, upbeat pop song reminiscent of her breakthrough hit "Exposed". Fans loved the new sexy direction she went for with her new material, with the single debuting and peaking at #3 and spending five weeks inside the top 10. After the single's charting came the release of the second album, A Different Me, which entered at #3 following its September release and eventually went as high as #2.

Louise's next two solo singles, Honest Girl and Porcelain Doll, surprisingly did not do as well as previous singles, peaking at #6 and #8, respectively, despite being backed by remixes from Miss Drips and Buffi. However, the album did help Louise earn her first #1 single, Faceflush / The Price We've Paid, her collaboration with Russ Hooch.

Louise is currently promoting her duet Little Miss Muffet with the help of boyband Fifth Element, the single is a pure summer pop song and very unlike her usual material. This is taken from her forthcoming Special Edition of A Different Me

Louise recently left Alias to start her own label, Elite, which is currently home to Bleak September, Damned, and La Chic Duo, the alias of brother-sister duo Sophie Ramone and Ben Parker.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Louise has formed many strong friendships during her time, her best friends are Russ Hooch and Emma Brown, and she shares a close bond with Luke Ramada whome she toured with and also had a crush on.

Irish singer/songwriter Shane MacColl was Louise's first relationship and it ended in disaster after MacColl became jealous of her success as he flopped time and time again, He even made a song and video for his comeback which portrayed Louise as the nasty girl who ruined him, the public did not buy MacColl's version of events and with Louise being the golden girl his comeback did not even make the top 40

Louise is currently very much in love with Cody Case from boyband Fifth Element. The pair met as they both promoted singles against each other. The press put it al down to a media stunt to boost interest in their singles however they are now living together and have a dog called Murphy.
