URAPS Big Brother 2011 was the re-birth series of URAPS Big Brother, after two years away, and the first series of Big Brother to air on Channel 5. It launched on 06 October 2011 at 9 pm on Channel 5. It ran for 35 days concluding on 09 November 2011. Following intense press speculation, the exact line-up of celebrity house guests remained a mystery until the launch night. On Day 35, Iris was crowned the winner of Big Brother.

Pre-series[edit | edit source]

Presenters[edit | edit source]

INTOXICATED girlgroup member Sara was revealed as the host for the main series.

House[edit | edit source]

The house is known to be very modern and stylish. The bedroom is known to consist of both single and double beds. There is also a living area, gym, garden, kitchen, bathroom, sauna amongst various other rooms. There is also a secret luxury bedroom, where only the week's Head Housemate has permission to attend. There is also a swimming pool.

Cameras and surveillance system[edit | edit source]

The housemates were watched by a network of 47 cameras 24/7date.

Diary Room[edit | edit source]

The diary room's chair is in the style of a luxury club chair in deep red with gold trim. The luxurious feel was enhanced by a dramatic entrance way to the diary room with strip lighting and mirrored surfaces. The diary room led to the small task room where challenges were set for the housemates, as well as provided the exit for Rocco when he was evicted on Day 2.

Launch night[edit | edit source]

The show went live on 06 October and was watched by 100% of the cool population, however social outcasts didn't watch because nobody likes them. A group of fourteen initial housemates entered the house through the big eye via a catwalk leading up to a flight of steps, crossing a swingbridge shaped like the Big Brother eye. Ruby Stephingham was announced as the first celebrity housemate to enter the new Big Brother house followed by man whore Brett Clarkson. Psychotic popsinger Iris entered third, followed by her husband Jason Adams (neither knew the other was entering). Blonde Ambition was followed by flop Kirby L. Avalon, singer Hailey Klass and newcomer Nicholas Richardson. Superstar Kenya entered next, followed by URAPS Idol 12 contestant James Frost, Ghetto diva Honey and James Moss, member of the popular group Phoenix Rising. Mitch was the only contestant to enter without releasing a single to date, and he was followed by blast from the past Rocco Varens. This marked the fourteenth and final housemate, however in a bizzare twist, Babycakes, the pet chihuahua of pop princess Candi entered the house, however her reason's for being in the house are currently unknown.

Launch night twist[edit | edit source]

Following the housemates' entrance into the house, Big Brother called one housemate to the Diary Room. Honey took up the offer and in the process nominated herself for a mission. She was made the "head housemate" and for the duration of the first week all housemates had to comply with all her demands, otherwise they would be punished. It was revealed in a shocking twist that the following night, Honey would have to eliminate one housemate from the Big Brother house. This led to the eviction of Rocco Varens on Day 2.

Press reaction[edit | edit source]

The media gave the relaunched show a positive reaction. Many complimented the inclusion of big names such as Kenya, but referred to Mitch as a "nobody". They also raised concern over the inclusion of Iris and Jason, calling the pair a 'freak show', and stating they are in no stable mental state to enter. Fans of the show complimented the inclusion of the majority of stars, however Rocco, Mitch and Jason immediately appeared quiet and didn't recieve as much attention.

Housemates[edit | edit source]

Alicia Jones[edit | edit source]

Alicia Jones is easily one of the biggest flops in URAPS history. Alicia entered the house on Day 10. She was evicted on Day 15, after failing to recieve enough votes to become an official housemate.

James Frost[edit | edit source]

Summary[edit | edit source]

Week 1[edit | edit source]

On launch night Ruby, Brett, Iris, Jason, Blonde, Kirby, Hailey, Nicholas, Kenya, James Frost, Honey, James Moss, Mitch, Rocco and Babycakes entered the house and broke the ice aided with liberal alcohol from the bar. One housemate was called to the diary room, and Honey went. It was revealed that for the entire first week Honey would be the "head of house" meaning any orders she made housemates would have to follow. She would also have to evict a housemate on Day 2.

On Day 2, the housemates got a little wet in the pool. Honey also had to choose a housemate to evict, and chose Rocco for being quiet and making no impact.

On Day 3, the housemates were all set a task to write a song for "Head of House" Honey. Honey then picked which song was the best and which song was the worst. Honey decided that Hailey's song was the best, and therefore Hailey became immune from the first eviction. Kirby's song was deemed the worst, and he therefore had to act as Honey's slave for the rest of the week, as well as having to live of slop for the rest of the week.

On Day 4, the housemates were set another task for "Head of House" Honey. This time they had to create a poster which supported voting for Honey to win. Kenya won this task and was granted immunity. Brett lost and was made to live of slop and act as Honey's slave.

On Day 7, the housemates were made to nominate live in front of one another, Big Brother announced that Mitch and Kirby were up for eviction as they recieved the most votes, however Blonde Ambition, Jason Adams and James Frost would also be nominated for not nominating. The eviction will be a double eviction.

On Day 10, the first live eviction took place. Mitch recieved the lowest amount of votes from the public to save and became the second housemate to be evicted. As it was a double eviction however, Jason Adams (who recieved the second lowest amount of votes) became the third housemate to be evicted. Following the double eviction, four new housemates entered the house, Alicia Jones, Bre Washington, Charlee Brookes and Edna Albaquerque. Babycakes was also made an official housemate instead of a house guest. However on Day 13, the original housemates will have to vote which two of these housemates can stay in the house, and which three will leave.

On Day 11, a lot of the housemates engaged in lots of discussions, after several quiet days. Honey also left the Big Brother due to an illness.

Week 2[edit | edit source]

Day 12 saw the housemates were also set a task, where they had to perform a catwalk showing off their "most fashionable outfit". New housemates Alicia, Bre, Charlee and Edna would then vote a best dressed (who would become the new "head of house") and worst dressed (who would recieve a punishment).

On Day 13, Iris made the shocking confession she had concieved a child in the Big Brother house with her husband Jason Adams (who was evicted on Day 9). The results of the best dressed task revealed Iris and Kenya to be the winners, and therefore they share the title of "Head of house" and are immune from the week's eviction. Ruby and Kirby were voted least stylish and were put up for eviction, along with whoever is nominated.

On Day 15, saw the housemates have to choose two of the housemates to remain in the Big Brother house out of Alicia, Babycakes, Bre, Charlee and Edna. Babycakes and Charlee won by a large margin, meaning Alicia, Bre and Edna were all evicted. Nominations also took place today.

On Day 16 it was revealed that James M and Blonde had recieved the most nominations, and would join Kirby and Ruby against the public vote.

On Day 18, Blonde Ambition became the fourth housemate to be evicted and following a double eviction, Ruby and the Gems became the fifth housemate to be evicted.

Week 3[edit | edit source]

On Day 19, the housemates had to allocate one housemate to one of the seven deadly sins they felt was more relevant to them. The three housemates with the least votes will be immune from eviction, where as the other seven housemates will be put up for eviction.

On Day 20, the results from the seven deadly sins task revealed that Kenya had been voted for wrath, Babycakes had been voted for greed, James F had been voted for sloth, James M had been voted for pride, Brett had been voted for lust, Kirby had been voted for envy and Hailey had been voted for gluttony, meaning Charlee, Iris and Nicholas were the "purest" housemates and would decide which two housemates were evicted at the end of the week.

On Day 24, "purest housemates" Charlee, Iris and Nicholas had to each vote one housemate they believed to have done the least at prooving they aren't deserving of the sin they were voted. Brett recieved two votes (from Iris and Nicholas) where as Charlee voted James Frost, meaning the pair were evicted straight away. Straight after the eviction, the final nominations took place.

On Day 25 it was revealed that Charlee, Hailey and Kirby would face the final public vote, which would be another double eviction. Therefore meaning Babycakes, Iris, James M, Kenya and Nicholas have all made the final.

Week 4[edit | edit source]

On Day 29 Kirby became the eighth housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house, followed by Charlee who became the ninth. This meant that Babycakes, Hailey, Iris, James M, Kenya and Nicholas were the final six housemates who made it to the final.

On Day 32, the house was dedicated to Hailey, and her close friend Paulo Araujo visited the house for the day. Day 33 was Babycakes day and saw her owner Candi visit the house. Day 34 was Kenya's day.

Day 35 was the live final. James M was first to be evicted, earning 6th place with 5.5% of the public vote. 5th place was given to Babycakes, with 9%. 15% of the vote saw Nicholas X earn 4th place leaving Hailey, Iris and Kenya fighting over gold, silver and bronze position. Kenya was revealed to have taken 3rd place with 18% of the votes which left Hailey and Iris to battle it out for the title of winner. With a massive 32% of the public vote, Iris was crowned winner of Big Brother 2011, leaving Hailey as the runner-up with 20.5%.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Note 1: On Day 2, "Head of House" Honey was given the power to evict one housemate. Her choice was Rocco, and he was evicted immedietly.
  • Note 2: "Head of House" Honey was immune from being nominated, as were Hailey and Kenya for winning their tasks.
  • Note 3: As one of Kirby's nominations where Kenya (who was immune) and Ruby's votes were Babycakes (who wasn't able to be voted for at the time), their votes did not count this week.
  • Note 4: Mitch and Kirby recieved the most votes and were up for eviction, however as Blonde, James F and Jason failed to nominate they were also put up for eviction. Honey didn't vote but as "Head of House" she escaped nomination.
  • Note 5: As Head of House, Iris and Kenya were immune from being nominated. Babycakes and Charlee were also immune due to being awarded housemate status the day of nominations. Ruby and Kirby were automatically put up for eviction after being voted worst dressed. This meant that only Blonde, Brett, Hailey, James F, James M and Nicholas were able to be nominated.

Ratings[edit | edit source]

On the launch night, loads of people watched it because everyone loves Babycakes. Although when Brett Clarkson appeared on the TV ratings dopped by around 15% because he's a dickhead. But then he went in the house and everyone watched again. The ratings didn't drop throughout the series, and instead grew the further the series progressed as the boring housemates were all evicted early on, and by the final 8 all the most popular and interesting characters remained.
