"What's A Boy To Do?" is the second single by British boyband Difused, taken from their debut album "What Did You Expect?". The song was written by Candi, band member Jamie Elite's older sister. The song was released on 30 July 2012 and charted at #3.

Background[edit | edit source]

The song was originally scheduled for release on 16th April 2012, however it was later pushed back to 07 May. After many delays, the group cancelled the single's release, until it eventually settled on a final release date of 30 July.

Release and reception[edit | edit source]

The b-side to the single, "Footprints In The Sand" recieved a very strong media response. The song was written by Jamie Elite, and sung by him with the other boys acting as backing vocals. It sings about the death of his elder brother Carter Elite, who died on 01 December, 2011. It recieved an overwhelming positive response from critics.

Music video[edit | edit source]

The music video was directed by John Urbano. The video's story line was based around Jack of the band, and his mission to get with the girl he likes. The video was shot in LA, United States during March of this year. The music video was also released on the 11th of July.

Chart performance[edit | edit source]

The single was released on 30 July, 2012 after several delays. It was the second highest new entry of the week behind Tommy Gunn at #2, and 8-BIT who had a second week at #1. It charted higher than new releases from Pandora and Caymon. The single remained in the charts in it's sixteenth week despite the fact the band's follow-up single "Turn Back Time" was also released.
