"Round & Round" and "Mystified" are two dance-pop songs recorded by Emily Henning.

Background[edit | edit source]

Both "Round & Round" and "Mystified" appear on Henning's debut album, Shattered Diamond (2007), and were released as a double AA-side single in March 2008.

"Round & Round" is a dance-driven electro-pop rock song with a length of three minutes and five seconds, composed by Carl Reeves. The song is influenced by the disco genre and was described by the AOL Radio Blog as a song that "rides a fist-pumping electro groove". The song's lyrics speak of a relationship going around in circles. The song's middle eight is a sing-speak breakdown, in which Henning raps her lyrics.

"Mystified" is a mid-tempo 1980s inspired disco song, with lyrics about a deceptive lover. The song was composed as a collaborative effort between Henning and Erik Lindström, although Henning contributed most of the lyrics. In a review by Musicomh.com it was described as a "simple but energetic" song with a "striding electro-bass line and some heavy vocal effects". RTÉ Entertainment called "Mystified" one of the best songs on Shattered Diamond, while MSN Entertainment called the track a "decent slice of sparkly radio pop with big synths and sexy vocals".
