Background[edit | edit source]

"Euphoria", the debut album by Nicholas X was released on 2 December, 2011. The first track on the album, also went by the name of "Euphoria" and feautred Chase Elite. Due to the track's popularity, it was chosen to be the third single from the album.

Release and reception[edit | edit source]

Upon the album's release on December 2, 2011, many critics described the track as one of the album's highlights, and complimented the pairing of Nicholas X and Chase Elite, stating 'what with these the two being the biggest males on the charts right now, it's little suprise the track is such a gem'.

The single was originally due for release February 6, 2012 but it was later pushed back a week to February 13th.

Music video[edit | edit source]

The video was filmed in mid-January 2012, with an announcement on January 16 revealing details on the video. The video was set in Ibiza (where Chase was already touring at the time as a DJ), and was inspired by the movie The Hangover, and will include real footage of the two partying while there.

On January 31, the video premiered. The video starts with Nicholas and Chase crashed out in a posh hotel room, with a widescreen TV cracked, food thrown on the floor, alcohol bottles smashed on the floor as well as them both being half naked under the sheets - Nicholas is crashed out on the floor whilst Chase is on the sofa. Nicholas slowly opens his eyes and asks Chase what happened last night, Chase just groans and throws him a camera Man I have no idea, check the camera we took last night ... that should help. As Nicholas looks through the camera, the pictures come to life [much like the end sequences of 'The Hangover' movies].

The first picture of the pair is fairly innocent, smiling as they hold their first drinks of the night - as it comes to life they clink drinks at the bar of a posh super club in the VIP section to a great night and being the best looking guys in the club, Chase's words not mine!

The next picture is of Chase sat down in the VIP section with a sexy girls hands all over him as she's dancing on him and accidentally pops champagne over his shirt, to which he smirks and takes his shirt off. She tries to lean in for a kiss with Chase before he pushes her away telling her that he's already taken, she then tries it with Nick before he also declines her. The two high five each other and laugh slightly as they walk off, leaving the slaggy girl by herself. Oops.

The next picture is slightly worse. It's of Nicholas and Chase stripping on stage, as it comes to life we see that Nick & Chase have strutted towards the front of the club to the club's stage, where people from the crowd are being invited to strip and dance. Nicholas & Chase quickly and drunkenly take up the offer and get up on stage and start stripping quite drunkenly. The two get kicked off the stage and out of the club by some big mean bodyguards when they get a bit too carried away and reveal a little too much skin! Oops! Luckily for them it's all blurred out and the original copy has been burned forever, sorry girls!

For the next picture it shows Nicholas trying to work a lampost as a hooker pole, as it comes to life it shows Nicholas trying to impress passerbys on the streets of San Antonio bay by showign his best moves, Chase quickly drags him off. They soon spot a party boat and decide to get involved as they do laugh and dance drunkenly, a hot guy gets up close to Nick on the boat and and snogs him before a girl comes over to him and she's angry as it's his boyfriend, she looks mad so naturally Nick & Chase run off and jump off the boat fully suited into the water and swim away, wahey!

The next picture shows Nick getting his tongue pierced ... oh dear. As the picture comes to life it shows as Nick & Chase have swam away they see a piercing place lit up in flashing lights and of course Nick & Chase go in, Chase eggs Nick on to get his tongue pierced and Nick agrees. The tongue piercing lady comes out and says it won't hurt ... as Nick has it done, he starts crying whilst Chase laughs at him and calls him a pussy.

For the next picture it shows Nick & Chase on top of a shops roof as they get police and a big crowd surronding them. The picture comes to life and Chase decides it'd be an ace idea to get on top of a club's roof and start partying and drinking on top of there. Police soon get involved and think they're going to jump, telling them it's okay and to slowly come down - Nick & Chase just look at each other pissing themselves. They quickly get down and run off in a taxi.

For the final picture we see a huge party in their hotel room, as it comes to life we see Nick & Chase drunkenly banging on all the hotel rooms of the hotel and inviting them up to a huge party in their premiere suite room. It of course goes badly, Chase touches the TV and tries to move it and it smashes on the floor - and isn't phased at all as he just laughs at it. Nick is casually grinding with some girl on the coffee table.

For the final scene it goes back to 'end of pictures', Nick laughs and shows Chase the pictures, instead of regretting it, Nick simply smirks at Chase and goes 'Same tonigth then dude?!' to which Chase replies with 'Hell yes!' and laughs slightly. Ta dah.
